World Superbike Kickoff Meeting

Alan Wilson, CEO and General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park, invites you to a kickoff meeting regarding the FIM WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP (SBK) race that is coming to Utah on June 1, 2008. On Saturday, September 8, following the day's on-track activities for the Honda Presents the Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains and American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association series, there will be a track ride for all riders followed by a meeting in Legends Hall at the MMP Club House to discuss important matters concerning the SBK race. "Bringing the SBK event to Miller Motorsports Park is a momentous achievement," Wilson said. "It is imperative that we impress upon everyone in the State of Utah how important this event is, and how significant it will be. We will need the help of the Utah motorcycling community, and particularly the USBA, to spread the word and help promote the event, and there are a number of areas in which we will need their help." All motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to this meeting. For those wishing to spend the day watching the races with both contemporary and vintage machinery, tickets will be only $10 (children 12 and under are free). For those arriving after 4:00 pm, admission will be free of charge. So please come out, bring your friends and families, and get involved in what will be the biggest motorcycle race in the history of the State of Utah. TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (August 22, 2007) - Miller Motorsports Park is very pleased to announce that it has reached a multi-year agreement to host the FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP beginning in 2008. It has been three years since the FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP raced in America, and having the series at Miller Motorsports Park will represent the most significant racing event in the history of the State of Utah. The race will be part of the Honda Summit of Speed, scheduled for June 1, 2008. "We are thrilled to bring the FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP to Miller Motorsports Park," said track owner Larry H. Miller. "This will be the biggest international sporting event in this state since the Olympic Winter Games in 2002. The weekend will be an action-packed celebration of two-wheeled competition for fans, with double-header races for both the FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and the AMA Superbike Championship. The AMA Superbike Championship has been a fixture on the annual schedule at Miller Motorsports Park since its opening in 2006.
