If I were you I'd do the SamServo Sub man. You know you have already paid about 1200.00 for the exhaust so what's 100.00 more. Then you'll have a nice clean setup.

Order the Sam's Servo Sub. For the 07 R1 it is part # SSS01... check the web site. It's $100 and takes care of your problem (no error light, no error code, no need to keep the servo motor and cables). Very easy to install... forget the connectors they provide....go to Lowe's and get 22-18 AWG Butt splices (no comments please; what they are actually called) with heat shrink ends. They are corrosion resistant, vibration resistant and water proof. Borrow or buy a heat gun...$15 at Harbor Freight tools. The provided connectors make the connection bulky and awkward; the butt splices make it easy to shrink wrap, bundle and attach to the bike.

PM or email telgar1072@hotmail.com if you need more info; there are some easy tricks to make the modification easy if electrical work is not your forte.

Good luck

why spend $100 when you can just disconnect the wires from the exup valve and servor motor??? works the same...only thing different is you can hear the servo motor moving when starting up.
