Looks mint!!:rock
Was looking at getting a drz 400 sm as a mate has one and know theyre an easy option to getting a motard(only need to change pipe,re jett it,air box mod and few cosmetic changes)..how much work was involved in getting it road registered? By this I mean with your wiring and so on,was there a certain model you adopted it all from,or just went bit by bit to have it usable??
Cheers,
-Pete
ezl_oo 08-29-2007, 09:46 PM GAWarrior, The convention looks sweet. I will try to make it next year with the bike...hopefully I still have it by next year. I think I'm going to kill myself on this thing riding in the streets. It is too much fun and I go crazy taking turns and jumping stuff..lol
Ozzy... I bought the bike all done up already. The only thing I'm going to do to it is buy some mirrors, and maybe down the road do some engine and suspension mods to make this bike really move.
Thanks for all the comments!

ezl_oo 08-30-2007, 05:14 PM I'm loving this bike so much that every free time I get I go to the garage to take it out for a ride. My R1 has just been sitting in my
garage so lonely and it might sit there the rest of the season...lol I might sell the R1 and buy me another supermoto....J/K I need a
bike I can do 150+ on the highway.

ezl_oo 09-06-2007, 07:59 AM After alot of thinking I may be selling it, only if someone gives me what I want so if anyone is interested pm me. I want something with more power/torque, I live in Northern NJ 5 minutes from NYC. If I don't sell it for the price I want I will keep it and put money into the motor for some serious power!!

well, that was short lived, lol.
IF you do get another one look into the 450's. They are insanely powerful and fast!
ezl_oo 09-06-2007, 10:57 AM I'm deciding whether to put money into the engine make it more powerful and keep it, or sell it and buy another faster more powerful supermoto. I will defitenely have to have a supermoto from now on. I can't just have a street bike anymore...lol

I am not sure you can get that bike to what you are looking for without spending a lot of money. Plus it is still going to be heavy. You will be amazed at how powerful the 450's are and light! Mine is an 06 yz450, but you can also look at the husky 450 and 510 smr. It is street legal and a legit supermoto racebike...very fast and powerful. Plimmer has one on here. I have ridden it and it is an awesome bike too.
ezl_oo 09-07-2007, 06:33 AM Yea that is the exact bikes that I'm looking to get. A Husky 450, 510, or 610 smr. I really either want the 610 or the 510 smr, but if I find a good deal on the 450 I will pick it up.

You don't want the 610...it is just like what you have now. Heavy and under powered...ok for a streetbike but lacks the "pop" I am sure you are looking for.
The 510 is a great bike but actually only a true 500 and it is just a stroked 450. So, the 450 or 510 are both really good bikes and a ton of fun!!:rock
ChampionsR1 09-07-2007, 12:41 PM street legal and race ready?? here ya go

Still reading up on getting a motard, and (initally) thought about going for either a crf or yzf 450 but figured(being from a dirtbike background) they'd naturally be prone to continuall servicing due to the general road use. What sort of hours are you getting out of yours before servicing,or are you racing it basically full time so are doing so after every race meet??
Cheers,
-Pete:thumbup

They are not all that bad actually. I don't ride mine on the street all that much but when I have it has been fine. Change the oil about once a week if you are riding it regularly, but it only takes about a quart so that isn't a big deal. So far on mine that is all I have needed to do. And change keep the air filter clean.
I don't race mine, just play on the track with it. If it is dusty then the air filter gets dirty really fast. You may have to adjust the valves from time to time but I haven't needed to on mine yet.
ezl_oo 09-08-2007, 08:11 AM Yea I may just get the Husky 510 smr then. I just need to sell my bike now...lol Does the Husky 510 come street legal and with a e-start? Also do they require alot of maintenance because my garage is filled with furniture and bikes so can't really do to much work to a bike in it, so I would be looking to bring it to a shop for maintenance.

yeah, street legal and e start. It is basically a street legal race bike, but that being said, Plimmer has had one about a year now and I don't think he has had to do much more than change the oil in his. And he rides it a decent amount on the street and track.
Good choice, you are going to like it a lot!

Only problem I have is keeping the front wheel on the ground :lol I havn't had any trouble, just oil changes. This bike really is a street legal race bike, you need to know that, no cooling fans and no ignition key, cruises around 65 mph, tops out at 90 mph.
If you can live with that, its a blast :thumbup
ezl_oo 09-08-2007, 09:59 AM Yea sounds good, I can live with that! That is defitenely my first choice for my next supermoto. How are the Husky bikes compared to the KTMs? I see that KTM has a 450 and 570 exec. They also have a 560 smr version what is the difference?

they are all about the same honestly. Just the husky is street legal out of the box.

Well, I am in Fayetteville and Plimmer is in Alpharetta. Plimmer has a husky 510 SMR and I have a yz450 supermoto...both street legal. We also both race our R1's.
As for supermoto, there is a track in barnesville Ga that does supermoto. It is a lot of fun too!!
