I've increased the oil level to the top of the indicator window, maybe alittle more above it , to keep the oil light from coming on. This has soo far fixed the light problem. I have noticed on this site a few have said to not fill above the fill window. what is the down side, if any, to filling alittle above the sight glass window? You should only fill with oil to between the min and max lines on window as over filling, once the engines hot, can blow gaskets/cause leaks, which in the worst case scenario can cause you engine to "blow" rendering it....well buggered :( . Early R1's get through oil faster than the chip van at Mallory park, I'd just keep topping up and doing regular changes, use good quality oil and you're light should stay off. On top of that, check for any signs of any oil leaks and that it's not getting into plugs etc (checking for the blue smoke), provided it ain't leaking, it should be happy days! :riding
