: Under Armor For under the Leathers....

Well, I used to ride with just some underwear and a t shirt under the leathers. Then if it got cold I would put some long-johns or something under, but you know how bulky that can get.

SO a simple solution. I was turned on to these this past summer by a good friend. Under Armor. You know the stuff football players wear under their pads? It can be bought at any sports store for around $80.

A few reasons why they work:
1-When it is super hot outside they dont stick to your skin and stay wet like cotton does. They enable your leathers to slide right off no matter how much you've been sweating. Also, they help to keep you cooler than a cotton shirt would.

2-While you are riding you are definitely more comfortable. This is because you dont have the feeling of your leathers "sticking" to you. It makes transitions from right to left a little more tolerable.

3-When it is cold outside (like now) they help with the warmth. Obviously its an extra layer of clothing but they arent too bulky. Whereas they keep you cooler in the summer by not soaking up all the sweat, they keep you warmer in the winter by blocking the wind flow and keeping the warmth inside. Strange but true.

4-If you like to take long trips then these cut out the need to take lots of clothes. They dry relatively quickly, so you can just dunk them in some water with a little soap, and hang them up. By the morning your good to go and clean as well!

Believe me, you have to get some. I know they make special undersuits for leathers and such, but I have found these to be the best thing that I have tried yet. I used to hate sitting on the floor and having my wife try to pull my sweaty leathers off. With these, everything is too easy. Check them out:

No I dont recommend riding like this:no

Top and bottoms are the same material. Not sure if they are "cold weather" or not...

Kind of like a spandex type stuff...

If you can't find UA overseas you can surely find bicycle apparel. UA is very similar to the lycra material worn by cyclists. I know because I raced road and mountain bikes for a number of years and also wear my old long cycling pants underneath. I actually prefer the cycling pants becasue they also have a little butt pad built in and when you have a get-off at over 100mph you want every piece of padding/protection you can get. I sometimes wear a dirt bike jersey underneath as well. The jersies aren't quite as good as UA but the cycling pants are exactly the same or better.
Another advantage to the cycling gear is that it is available in wind-protection style which has a double layer on the front half of the material but no more bulk than the regular stuff. This can be helpful while wearing perforated leathers during the early spring and late fall track days.

BTW... I would not recomend the white as its semi transparent, go with the black or blue .

Different tops are described on the website, including all-season gear shirt (0044) and coldgear shirt (0012).

Bottoms included cold gear leggings (0025-2) and Turf gear leggings (0025-1). Just wondering which combo you were reviewing here. Don't want to get the wrong stuff LOL.

You can look into Nike dri fit or Patagonia under layer. Both work well.

I've got the TurfGear top, and can't say enough good sh*t about it. Kneedragger hit all the highlights of the stuff, so all I can add is "GET YOURS NOW" :fact
