KneeDragger77 12-15-2002, 04:52 PM I'll keep this short and to the point. The stock windscreen on the R1 S-U-C-K-S............ Even at full tuck you are still getting hit by the wind. Forget sitting up, you might get blown off the bike!:D
The ZG DB is a great item. It fits great, no noticable gap between the screen and the upper. The best past about it is, it does its job! You get plenty of protection at full tuck, and even if you are only hunched over a little, it still deflects the wind much better than a stock screen would.
Truly a must have for all riders. The price is great at around $70. You use the original screws and such so no need to buy extra hardware. A really functional and cool looking modification.
Here you can see the extra 2 inches or so that it gives you over the stock screen. Every little bit helps!

frank 12-15-2002, 05:18 PM where did you get the your clear one from? i've been looking for a clear one
KneeDragger77 12-15-2002, 06:43 PM www.Cyclemall.net:hellobye
CMRRA13 12-23-2002, 10:44 PM I love my DB. I find myself not having to tuck in so much at 100+ mph.
BlueDevil 12-26-2002, 01:15 PM I would have to agree. A long day at the track really lets you notice the difference. My neck kills me with the stock screen. Yet I feel considerable better with the DB. One of the best mods I have bought so far.
mach5er 12-26-2002, 09:27 PM I'm 6'4" and that ZG DB helped like a Mo-Fo. Wind Buffing reduced to a minimum with this baby. I highly recommend it. Both fit and finish are excellent.
EastCoastR1 12-28-2002, 09:17 AM When you are 6'5" the DB comes in handy...I can only
"tuck down" so far guys!
nuihc01 12-29-2002, 08:50 PM I agree with the above posters. I just intalled a ZG DB on my R/W 02 and it's made a huge improvement. I got the dark smoke one from www.cyclemall.net and think that it's gotta be one of the top 3-4 things I would do first for an R!.
WIKD R1 01-22-2003, 09:36 AM I have to agree with what has been said already. The DB makes a big difference.

POST YOUR PICS!!!
Fabbri D/B on mine, not been out on it since I put it on though!
scorpio 01-23-2003, 08:17 AM yep. that's the first item i went for.
but i prefer the colored(blue) one.
Gawarrior 01-23-2003, 09:18 AM Is the "gap" issue a lot better on the zero gravity than the Fabbri double bubble? And is it less noticable on the zero gravity? I am leaning towards the zg, but if it has gap problems too then I may have to stay with stock.
Goose 01-23-2003, 09:22 AM I have a tiny gap with the ZG DB, but it's hardly noticeable unless you've got your face 6" away from the upper(from the headlight side). Otherwise it's a huge improvement over the stock screen, gap or no gap. I got the dark smoke but if I had to do it again I'd get the light smoke since you can't see through mine unless it's a very sunny day. But it looks sweet and it was the first thing I bought after I brought my bike home. I don't get to the track so I'm not always riding in a full tuck, therefore the visibility issue is a non issue for me. It kicks the wind up over the head a little better and that's key.
Goose 01-23-2003, 09:28 AM here's a pic:
luckystar1 01-30-2003, 12:54 PM hers mine
02R1guy 02-02-2003, 07:14 AM I got the Light Smoke and you can see through it pretty good. I may sell and get a clear. I bought a camera mount to vid record my buddies and not sure how well it will record.
BTW its a ZG DB
evilR1 02-14-2003, 03:43 AM yeaahhh
i finally got my clear DB in today. I hope the 0 Gravity fits as good as it did on my ZX7 and as you described on you R1. I have seen some bad post pics of other brands.
nuihc01 02-14-2003, 05:10 PM I got the dark smoke and if I had to do it again, I'd go with the clear. The gap on the 02 is minimal but it is there. Like the other poster said though, you'd have to almost look foi it to notice it. I'm planning on doing some track time so I may end up getting the clear one.
WetWork999 02-17-2003, 06:35 PM I have the powerbronze Airflow and love it but it did require some alterations to have a perfect fit. It is thicker than most other screens and I have taken some serious boulders off of it and nada. I am very happy with it.

Hot Rod R1 02-25-2003, 08:24 PM That's a wild looking Damper
LloydinDallas 02-27-2003, 04:39 PM Man at around $70 is pretty vague. It cost me 81 and change to get one from Cyclemall.
SkiBum 03-13-2003, 10:09 AM Just a word of warning, they don't crash very well compared to the stock windshield. Mine shattered as did a friend of mine's. :(

The windshield is the last thing I'd worry about if my bike went over. If it breaks or not its still Scratched to hell.:(
SkiBum 03-13-2003, 09:28 PM Just trying to let people know that they're brittle. I love mine and bought another one as I like the extra wind protection, but my friend's bike got pushed over in a parking lot and his shattered too. The stock windshield is alot tougher.

You're right, but this is common with aftermarket windscreens because the plastic is much harder than the stock screen. I had a Powerbronze that did the same thing. LP and Fabbri are no different. I would like an aftermarket windscreen that is just as durable as stock, but I can't find one so I'll probably settle for the MRA screen.
soR1n 03-16-2003, 06:23 PM where can i find a zero gravity -smoked- double bubble windscreen for my 99 R1?? cyclemall has the 2002-2003 ones.. will those fit 99's?? and anyone w/ a 99 have any pictures of their bike w/ a ZG double bubble?
soR1n 03-16-2003, 07:00 PM im also interested in the Fabbri windscreens (for 99 R1's) as well.. anyone have pics of it?
LarzR1 03-18-2003, 08:02 AM  I just put my Zero Gravity BD dark smoke on yesterday and
I'd have to say it looks BADASS for one thing. The fit was very
good too and as kneedragger said, no extra hardware to mess with. Might have the smallest gap towards the top but I can still move it a little if I have to to get the fit tighter.
I'd recommend buying one, especially for taller guys and gals.
Big Daddy 04-01-2003, 11:22 PM Me likes too..:)
A_Fire_Inside 04-19-2003, 01:16 AM so does blue look good on a blue bike? or should i go with clear?
R1Guy777 04-20-2003, 06:58 PM Nice bike man, are those race shark skins? I like the one headlight style. I was thinking about doing the same thing with my 99 R1 since one of my headlights is broken.

steve1970 04-28-2003, 08:39 PM Have you guys ever thought of going for the 0-gravity sport -touring windscreen for the R1. I felt by looking at their website it provided the most protection from the wind. The windscreen should be anyone's first mod. I am happy with mine, can't comment on DB, but it looks nice.
terrasmak 05-08-2003, 04:48 PM i went with the LP V2 works great , i dont know if its the same hight as the double bubble but im happy . Does anyone make a race high screen that doesnt have the creases in it like the V2 or double bubble
crazy_r1rob 05-25-2003, 01:26 PM Here's a pic of the ZERO G that I fitted to my R7 bodyworked R1. Even though it was a SR, not a SS, it came undrilled. As you can see there is a "slight" gap between the middle two bolts on eachside.. The optics are superb though. No distortion looking through it at all. A good thing considering the size of it. I have a OEM R7 screen coming in to compare gaps and fit between the two.
