OK, There are some really great high quality suits out there, and there are some lower end ones. I'd like to believe that the JR Speedmaster is somewhere just above the middle of the pack.
A great price and nice quality too. The speedmaster retails between $900 to $1000, and I got mine for $625 on a closeout deal from newenough.com. It was last years model, and nobody wanted it. I love the green, and it was my size! Perfect!
So about the suit. If you want all the "specs" just go to newenough.com and read about it, I'm just gonna give you my honest opinon.
It does fit a bit tight in the crotch when standing, but big deal. There is nice movement in the upper body area, but it is a little restricted. The armor fits nicely and isnt loose at all. The quality of the suit is great, although I havent got off in it yet, I know some people that have at the track and theirs has held up fine.
The leather is nice, especially in perforated. You can really feel the cool breeze on your chest and legs on a hot sunny day. The vents in the shoulders however, dont do squat. As far as flexibility is concerned, they are great. Some suits have leather in the crotch area which makes for a "not so flexible" feel. These have a stretchy spandex or something that really enables you to kick the knee out in a turn.
My only complaint would be about the velcro tab that covers the zipper. It has become worn out I guess and doesnt hold too well. Not a big complaint but one nonetheless...
I have done many rides in these leathers and a few very hot track days. They fit well and dont suffocate you. The interior lining is pretty nice too. The zippers have held up to some good punishment, and that is a plus.
IMO, these are great starter or even club racer/trackday leathers. They will hold up to the punishment, and won't break the bank. Even some of the pro's use them: Hayden, Buckmaster,Picotte, DuHamel, Chandler, Zemke, Crevier etc....
Here be me in the Speedmasters:
