I have the atomic. I like it. I have three jackets total. Alpinestars P1 for the cold days, the Atomic, and the JR pheonix for the hot and humid days.

The Atomic was the first one that I owned, it really is the most flexible with the zip out liner and all.

I would reccomend it.

:D

I'm a gear pack-rat. The Atomic happens to be one of the zillion jackets I own. I was both pleasantly surprised and slightly disappointed in the jacket.

I picked it up as a flexible jacket. Here are some good features:
Removable liner.
Front, Back, and Sleeve vents.
Velcro adjustible sleeves and waist.

Some bad things:
Very thin armor.
Armor moves around a lot.

I'd say it's an okay jacket, but I'd spring for something better if you have the cash. Leather is always the best way to go if you can afford it. And if heat is a problem, get the perf leather and swipe on an extra coat of Degree.

I had the Atomic jacket and Love the flexability it had. The waist velcro came off after two years and the white strip does not clean up very well from bugs. But you can at least put it in the washing machine and wash it more often than leather.

hey motopsyko,

it's good to hear you and your girl are straightening things out. i was bummed to read about the problems.

sorry, i don't have an extra mesh jacket for ya. i'll give you a recommendation for an inexpensive one, though...

fieldsheer makes one called the "titanium air".
http://www.fieldsheer.com/products.php?display=titanium-air-jacket
it's really pretty cheap and is VERY similar to joe rocket's "phoenix".
http://www.joerocket.com/catalog/item.cfm?products_id=198
i recall a magazine review last year that rated a handfull of the mesh jackets and the titanium air was rated higher, but it's about the same price. you can often find them on special for $89. (brockton cycle and CCP).

i own the fieldsheer "sonic air". it's basically the same jacket with a little bit of leather on the common impact areas (very little leather).

got it for $140 from CCP.

Chris at CCP is having a special right now on both the Titanium Air and the Sonic jackets. Saw it on Gixxer.com
