I talked to Ryan today and we discussed doing the Crawfish boil again at the convention this year. He is willing to do it again, but we need some dedicated volunteers to help him. I am not exactly sure how many but Ryan roughly estimated 10 so that it will run smoothly. Ryan also mentioned that he made some kind of cooker that we could cook a pig in as well...so we could do a crawfish boil/pig cook! I know it will be insanely good. I haven't decided yet how we will fund it, maybe out of the food fund and not have fontana cook that night but I guess it depends on how many people are interested. So first off we need volunteers. Please contact me for that. Second we need to know how many to prepare for. Any, and everyone that is interested please post or somehow let me know and I will just start a list here on this post. Details are as follows.... Ryan is going to order the approx 5 lbs per person according to the people that i have on the list. It will be wednesday night and you will have to pay for this at the convention. We are not taking up the money ahead of time. Plan on approx. $5 per lbs so you are looking at around 25 bucks per person. If you are not on the list you are either out of luck unless someone on the list bails or there are left overs...which I doubt will happen. If you don't pay, someone else will eat your crawfish, that is for sure. Crawfish Eating List (Volunteers in RED) If you want to pay in advance, here is the paypal info. Ryan@ryanochoa.com 5$/pound usually about 5lbs. is "good eatin" ryn8a Gawarrior SpidermanSS GPD270 Skeeter Devil1 Irishstu Kevap DanQ Goobr Paytheon SPYDR1 JPWarrior+1 Pavmatic Leader Zrider Gridlock Kyle M HBK3 Peg Grinder +1 Mefistofeles Shawn rdx ClinesR1 +1 Olympia blasterboy1980+1

The corn really lit me on fire. I was done after I ate it. I do think we need to start it earlier this year. It was pitch dark last year when everything was ready to eat. Are we going to have it at our cabin again or up on the road where we usually eat? Actually Skeet, I started pretty early last year but the process took a long time with the limited help. It sounds like it may be different this year. The pig is also an option. We just did a 75lb pig for New Years and it came out great. The device we made is called a "Cajun Microwave". It's like a portable oven, but the fire is on top which heats the bottom of the box. It can cook a whole 75 pounder ins about 8-10 hours, though, the longer the slow cook, the better the pig. Here are some pics of the last one we cooked: Fall off the bone!!! http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/ryn8a/New%20Years%202008/CajunMicrowave081Large.jpg Cracklin Anyone....mmmmmhhhhh mmmmmmhhhh http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/ryn8a/New%20Years%202008/CajunMicrowave080Large.jpg Time to flip it!!! http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/ryn8a/New%20Years%202008/CajunMicrowave078Large.jpg Bringing up the heat for the cracklin!! http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/ryn8a/New%20Years%202008/CajunMicrowave070Large.jpg The Cajun Inferno Engineers http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/ryn8a/New%20Years%202008/CajunMicrowave064Large.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w14/ryn8a/New%20Years%202008/CajunMicrowave061Large.jpg

THanks ben. I agree with you. I am sure whoever is eating the pig and crawfish that we will not eat the fontana dinner. I am not quite sure how to handle that though. If we just have a medium group of folks it may be easiest to just pack up the fontana dinners for lunch the next day. I am game for options. Maybe we could use our individual food money that we were going to spend on the fontana food that night to pay for this. It would be nice if I just had enough extra to pay for it. and I may actually have because we will only do one boat this year. just have to see. we will figure it out though

It will be wednesday night and you will have to pay for this at the convention. We are not taking up the money ahead of time. Plan on approx. $5 per lbs so you are looking at around 25 bucks per person.
