My 2002 has been an ongoing project from day one, original owner, got her in Feb 2002, all the work except for paint has been done by your's truly. Have had thoughts of getting rid of her several times, but will probably never part with her. She's been with me thru good & bad times and still runs & handle's remarkably. I'm kind of old school and prefer the side exit exhaust vs. the undertail, and she still brings a smile to my face when I look at her & ride her, besides at my age I'll never use it to its full potential. With all thats gone into her so far it would be hard to part with it & start over. Photo's from couple stages of her development below-

Super ride and great attitude toward your invesment. So many guys on these sites get the newest models just have the latest & greatest and then wind up selling it after a year with 5k in mods. Anything to get that extra 4hp the new model claims as head and shoulders over last years bike. The bike mags are the worst for this and I swear must get money from the bike manufacturers for stirring the pot every year. It is refreshing to see how much work and dedication went into your ride and the reality of enjoying it because most of us will never touch the potential of our bikes.

First off, as always, absolutely stunning bike, brother. Second off, I thought the same thing about mine.....until I found the real thing. I'm picking up my R7 on Feb 15th, and it should be in my garage by the 20th. Over the next few years, she's going to become a TRUE Haga replica. :sneaky

That front V panel is absolute art. I love it. Dynomite in the UK makes it, they also make a vented version of my front fender and a vented rear hugger with the gold mesh. I've dealt with Matt & the guys at Dynomite for over 5yrs and highly recomend them. All their parts are exceptional quality & fit, the Dynomite CF on my bike is 5yrs + and still looks new :bow

Check out the Fast Bikes dvd. This guy gets to ride the most bad ass bikes in the world and his fav is Hagas R7. It's always been the class of the sportbike and it's just a shame that Yam. doesn't build it anymore. Though it hasn't been available to the public for years can you imagine what it might be like today? It's the reason Suzukis 750 is so many riders fav.

coming from an old school carbie '94 blade to a fuel injected 03 R6 (had been 10 years before i rode after the blade) and realising that 600 cc class has the same power of bikes that were 10 years older and bigger. apart from that they also handled better and were lighter. now im on a 07 R1, omfg when i hit that throttle vrrrrrrrrooooommmmmmmmm. so bloody fast and yet handles beautifully. makes me wonder why i didn't cut my balls off when i married my wife and she made give it up until now. lol

Have you got your one off TI kickstand made yet Rorlow? my fabricator has the Ti stock, but he's trying to just get some sample Ti welding rod rather than buy a whole can of rods. He doesn't do alot of Ti welding and the Ti rod is extremely expensive, kind of hard to justify several hundred bucks worth of rod for a couple kickstands :crash I'm trying to be patient with him because he has my best interests in mind, as well as my budget, but I'm getting antsy for my bits. Will definately post up photo's & pricing when I get it and the chain holder :thumbup

Hey rorlow, something I've wondered since I see you have the lifters and spools. Do you use both? Which do you use when you change a tire? And if you were to use the lifters when you take your axle out, what keeps those in place other than the original adjuster bolt? As always..Thanks!

And if you were to use the lifters when you take your axle out, what keeps those in place other than the original adjuster bolt? As always..Thanks! I use the lifters for chain maintenance and when I pull the rear wheel. I prefer to use the lifters as they are more stable than the spools, and the rear stand sits further aft for easier access to wheel. There are 3 bolts that hold the chain adjusters on, one where the OEM adjuster bolt used to be, and 2 at the rear that tighten the front and rear backing plates. I use the Sato delrin spools as Dylan said, for emergency use and as a slider :thumbup

The Quick oil changer is an excellent update and very purposeful. I highly recommend it, Im very satisfied with mine... Update on our Ti kickstands- I apologize man, it's taking forever to get these fabbed, latest is we now have found a local aircraft welder, and have the Ti stock, but still having problems getting the welding rod. The expense of a whole box of rods is hard to justify for a couple kickstands ($400+ box of rods) for my mechanic, so he's still trying to get some sample rods from the welding company. I know . . . its been in the works since spring :rant My 2nd. bit, the Ti chain holder has now been switched to anodized billet, and we are thru the 3rd-4th prototype, having some difficulty getting it to sit correctly on the swingarm & hold the chain properly. The 1pc route isn't working so my mechanic is now cutting & welding a small section of a sprocket to a bracket. After its done its off to be anodized red, like the example in pics on previous page. It also doesn't help that I'm a perfectionist :crash

There are 6 epoxied concrete ground anchors thru the unit into the concrete. The rear tire sits on top of the anchors. I also use a heavy duty OnGuard hex chain thru the front wheel bolted to a welded SST eyebolt anchored & epoxied into the concrete. She also stays covered at all times with the non-discript gray Dowco cover. I also keep a disc lock on the front rotor. That is what I am talking about. The lip or guard is tight/close to the head of the unit. Do you want to know the depth? I can't get the bolt from the 14mm kit in, due to the little guard being in the way. I just thought that maybe I got the wrong size or something. Guess just my luck is that it doesn't fit. Was it a tight fit, when you were putting yours in?

Yes, I had to use a open face wrench carefully so not nurl the unit. Nothing to trip on, purposeful mod and make oil changes way easier...

Hey there rorlow :) Frstly, top work on your bike, very very nice indeed :thumbup Just one quick question, I couldn't make it out from your list of mods on the first page (to be honest my eyes were going funny reading through them!) but what make are your frame bungs? Mine are Harris, shown here: http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o128/marcaztls/FrameBung1.jpg I was given them by a friend who had them for his '98 which has a 'flatter' frame around that area than ours and from what I can tell in your pictures yours sit flat. Mine obviously don't. I painted the rear of mine black and it's not so obvious but I'd like to keep my eye out for a set that sit flush and yours seem to fit the bill perfectly. Thanks in advance :)

About 5yrs ago I worked in an injection molding facility, we made the plugs you see on my bike out of Delrin. They are actually plugs for the rust proofing openings in car doors & body panels, they rust proof the car than stick those in the holes to seal the hole. I took a few and massaged them to fit flush, than siliconed them in. Was trying to get a couple hundred for everyone on the forum, but the company closed before I could get them :rant

Great choice Ron. I watched an R1 the same model as ours lowside up a track in front of me going pretty quick and all he damaged other than his R&G sliders inc. the equivalent of the Harris one you're putting on, was his bar end and clutch lever. Since then my bike's had ever crash protector R&G make on it. :) It'll look good matching your clutch side one too :)

I made a good quality aluminium one to replace that on mine. It may not be as strong though and I feel a bit guilty everytime I take it out. One day it'll get replaced with a Ti one hopefully :)

They now only manufacture the exact new ones you already have or these. A slightly shorter peg, 75mm not including the boss, and with a small (and frankly useless as it wears through in no time) delrin plug in the end. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o128/marcaztls/DSC02217.jpg I'll have a look through my catalogues and see if there's anything I can match with the pegs you're after but it seems most of the manufacturers over here are actually if anything copying the Harris style pegs you already have.
