R1JasonUK 02-12-2008, 03:13 PM After posting a few pictures on the General board a few riders suggested I should post pics of my bike here.
On 21st September 2006 I was involved in a motorcycle accident, when a car pulled out from a junction into my left hand side. This resulted in me having my lower left leg amputated below the knee. By March 2007 I was back on the road with the help of a company called kliktronic who make solenoid gear shifters for bikes and kit cars. I am able to change gear by pressing a up and down button on some switchgear mounted on the left handlebar.
I was never going to let someone elses poor driving stop me doing what I love....riding my motorbike. In May 2007 I bought this R1, which was painted by the dealer and had a few nice mods done. I rode it for the summer and over the winter I have stripped it down and added some nice bits and pieces. All the Fiat reps I have seen have been Rossi reps, so I am well pleased with my Colin Edwards Rep. The full spec to date is:
