Looks like the Ducati's were sandbagging as Bayliss and Biaggi took the top two spots in the first race ! I'm not liking the 1200cc rule; that is in effect for Ducati right ?

A lttle upsetting to see Haga in this position.
***SPOILER ALERT***
I watched Haga's crash about 100 times, and in slow mo. I first thought it was Haga's fult because he took his hand off, but it looks to me like Biaggi the bastard caused it again. Biaggi overtakes Haga on the inside, gets in front, could not hold a line and slows right down, so Haga then runs into Biaggi's back tyre, actually touches, cracks the shits at Biaggi, and highsides.
Whats with biaggi and overtaking Haga??:no
Oh well, its racing:dunno

:stpd: :fact Ya'll should have heard me when I found out. What you two have said was what I said AFTER I cooled down and had my head back on straight... I was looking forward to going since I got here, then to find out a couple of weeks ago that the track was "blacklisted" I lost my mind. Still a little bitter about the whole thing.

Im assuming they do it for safety reasons?

As much as I agree that the Ducati's might not be evenly matched :sneaky(time will tell)....boy you gotta wonder what the Alstare Suzuki guys have in those GSXRs...
Did you notice that speed down the front straight??? Damn! :scared(Specially Race 2 with Nieto)

adrinalinjunkie 02-24-2008, 07:41 PM what happen to the yami in race 2???? And the GSX-R...what the? And the Duc 1198 (cuz that what it really is) clearly a strong mid to late race finisher...I'll wait and see what happens over the next tow races before I make a call. But it looks like something is going to have to give. I think Haga made the mistake in race 1...it was a pretty clean pass from the angle they gave us on SPEED. Philip Island next week!
1fastmf 02-24-2008, 10:06 PM what happen to the yami in race 2????
I think the word is that Corser and possibly Haga changed tire options and they wore out alot faster in Round II. Guess the tire guys made a bad recommendation.

I know its racing, but I do agree with you. I know sometimes Haga rides a little bit kamakazi, but nobody else besides Biaggi causes crashes for him other than himself! The race last year that Biaggi took him out of cost him points that could have won the championship. I know he crashed once and took Kagayama out too, but Kagayama was never in the hunt. I know Haga cost himself points there too, but Biaggi, as much as I like to watch him ride, is such a dick!
1fastmf 02-25-2008, 12:00 AM I know he crashed once and took Kagayama out too, but Kagayama was never in the hunt. !
Wasn't Kagayama leading that race when Haga took him out? I think that was like a last lap fiasco. He not only cost him the race, but I think the win in that particular case...(Someone with a better memory feel free to correct me.)
You have to admit though....all that close passing is what make WSBK so much fun to watch...

TOTALLY off topic... You're avatar is probably THE sexiest bish I've ever seen as an avatar... :bow Better than Kevaps' Canadian chic... :fact
Carry on... :epimp
BlueDevil 02-25-2008, 06:31 AM ya know... I used to not like Biaggi... Then after all the shafting he got trying to get back into Moto GP... I felt a little bad for him and thought it may be nice to watch him win a championship so he could give a mighty FU.... Then last years take out of Haga hapenend... Ok so maybe he will be better now?
Then this years..... Though Haga made an idiot move by taking his hand off... He did get divebomed by Biaggi more than a hand full of times as did many other riders....If you watch his entrance to most corners when he is chacing someone... He almost looks as to point his bike directy and their case covers and jam it in there.... As if his lines are designed to ry and force riders wide out of plain fear of gettign T-boned..... Though I can see the potential strategy side of it, I feel it comes off dirty when he is basically playing bumper cars out there...... I just dont see a place for that kind of racing at that level.... Any level for that mattter... If he wants to play bumber cars.. let him go to Six Flags or something....
At this point his only bennefit to the sport is drama... He will make a somewhat normal race a spectacle by just taking out a rider or 2 in his quest.... Then in his interview at the end he will insult a rider that was beating him the entire race, then fell off near the end......
Sorry Biaggi fans... once an A-hole.. always a A-hole...

:lol Thanks.... You know the wild part about it is that I didn't even put her up as my avatar, Bogie did it trying to be funny. As you can see, I've been a little slow to take her down.... wonder why that is. :boobies Sorry about the quick thread jack, I'm done.
ohlarikd 02-25-2008, 07:20 AM I didn't like Biaggi's move either. It seemed like he made a decent pass on the inside and it was basically clean, but then he parked it mid corner to scrub off speed to make the turn and Haga rear ended him. Haga was taking a slightly wider turn with higher corner speed.
Still, it was a racing incident, happens all the time, Haga just let his emotions get the best of him this time. How else would you shake a fist at someone at full lean, ~100mph, in a pack of 5 riders unless you were REALLY pissed. If it was anyone else but Biaggi, I think Haga would have been fine.
Good to see Fonzi win it after all those years on that crap Kawasaki. Which are apparently still crap.
Derek

I believe you are right. I guess I was referring to the title hunt... If I remember correctly Haga went down on the brakes trying to pass Kagayama and couldn't make it stick. If that were Biaggi, he probably would've just pulled a Pedrosa and rode right into Kagayama. Either way you're right about the close passing etc. and I agree with what someone else said about him being good for drama.

Why not like the 1200cc rule? The Duc's had no power advantage that I could see (the Suzuki's were by far the fastest bikes out there). The I-4's took off running, then fell behind. The Duc's then crept up and found their steam at the end of the race.
Why? I can only guess tire managment, the old saw that twins are easier on tires than I-4's, and it sure looked that way to me (w/ the exception of that damn Zook in race 2!!!!).
Besides....more bikes on the grid equals better racing.....next year look for BMW and KTM and Aprilia back on the grid. Are you kidding? That's AWESOME.

+1 I think there is more to the new Duc then just the engine.....
ohlarikd 02-25-2008, 03:07 PM Interesting thoughts on the 1200cc Duc rule
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/25022008/58/carter-s-wsbk-review.html
Also, race 1, 5 of the top 10 were ducs, and race 2 was 6 of the top 10, on a track where they are historically bad at. Time will tell.
