Hey fellas, if we have enough people that are going to go motocross riding this year at the convention I would like to look into renting the track just for ourselves. I don't know how much it would cost but I am sure we could do it for the right amount of $$$. It would also allow us to get over there during the week when they are not normally open. So, let me know if you are in. btw, there is also a kids track and trails at this place. Its not to dangerous, the jumps are pretty easy and the track is really wide. They also keep it in good shape, water it alot .

As for the calender, I am not sure it is up to date. I will call sometime before the convention to make sure they are at least open at the end of the week if we don't reserve it. They have racing coming up plus they have trails so I am sure they will be opening up soon.

Are we going to have a place to ride up there? Definately. There are other MX tracks if that one doesn't pan out, plus there are 2 oRV areas about an hour away in opposite directions. I'll try to get on top of this track and see what is up though.

I've started second guessing myself and started looking at the WR 250's and 450's. :no Definately. it is a lot of fun. Stu, what kind of riding do you plan on doing? and don't think the WR is much less tamer than the YZ, it is the same motor just slightly tamed down...a few mods and it can be made the exact same, but both are great bikes.

Right out of the chute I'll probably get my bearings back in the woods, then SLOWLY work my way back to the track... after I can hold a line and keep a decent pace, so I don't get run over.

I finally got to take the 450 out today for the first time and all I can say is....WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOO! Great dang that thing is scary fast/powerful. :scared:scared:scared:scared:scared:scared:scared I started to clean it and remembered KMAC called me out for it being so clean... It started out caked in mud but some of it was washed off before I snapped the pics.

The ruts were terrible, a lot worse than two wheeler ruts, but it was still a fun little area and I had it all to myself so I didn't have to worry about anyone else. I'm thinking about heading back out there again today. Damnit I want another Dirtbike. You better start working Annie over now... :lol

I'm trying to sell it now for a bigger trailer. If I get a bigger trailer then I'll have that and I Tahoe. If I still have the 4x8 I'll be brining my Dakota too.

I can go two, three or four times during the week it doesn't matter to me... I've been on a lot of the roads up there, but have never stepped foot on any of the off roads/tracks in that area. I guess we can plan on twice and then play it by ear up there.

There's usually someone hanging around Fontana, in fact I can think of only one time that it's completely cleared out and thats on the Convention parade through the Gap.... even then there's usually someone that slept in too late and is still hangin out at the cabins.

Having these moto-x days are really going to change the "fun dynamic" of the convention for me... Before it was all about 129 and the surrounding roads, can't wait to add this to my list of "must do's" at the future conventions.

Hell yea! I have a package strapped to my forks that contains a couple spark plugs and a wrench. I got stuck way back in the woods a few months ago with a fouled plug. :crash Never again! :lol

I think it's going to be something like $15 per day.

Hey Chad, looking at the track calendar there's no mention of our track rental or an open practice....:dunno I hate to show up and they look at us like we're crazy. :confused: Edit: I think I posted something like this before, but am too lazy to go through all the pages to find out the original answer.

Of course we do! I can fit 3 bikes in my truck easy and 4 guys. As for the riding...the track is pretty tame and there are trails there too. JOIN US!!! Hey chad, put me down for the dirt ride. Depending on room i might not have room for the 450 if im bringing the dirt bike but we'll see, I really wanna go play off road with you guys.Looks like an awsome place. Ill definatly be hitting that enduro trail as well so count me in for a fun day. Also id like to ride with someone if i can.....my truck is a crew cab chevy with a 6.0L thats not the most fuel friendly lol. We can take it if we need to but id rather hitch a ride if possible.

Well guys - it looks like I might be an 'IF' at the dirt track this year. I've only been on my bike one time this year, and that was trying to get my right ankle strong enough to race MX again. So then I tore down my motor to put a new piston in... and had a million other things come up. The old 450 hasnt ran in a few months, and is currently still just a motor and frame.. And to make it worse- sunday I broke off a bolt in the case because my POS Craftsman torque wrench didnt work properly. I think im going back to the old dial style torque wrench. Anyways- ya'll better hope I dont bring it... Cuz if I bring the 450... Im bringing IT! =)

How was Roebling Chad? It was good. the bike had some issues but I was able to ride enough to wear out a rear tire:) I didn't ride sunday though because of the issues. Hopefully I will get them all squared about soon.

I know and I'm with ya... I went out on a moto-x track for the first time last week and was absolutely MISERABLE!!! So to have someone there that knows what they're doing will help out tremendously.

Well I raced a full season last year... ended up getting the championship in the novice class. I'm not great but I can make my way around a track pretty fast. Longest recorded jump is 115' triple... But this year my bike has been messed up- Hoping to be able to bring it tho.. We'll see if I still have it.. lol

If you get a chance to ride before then, just practice turns. Anyone can go fast in the straights and jumps.. turning is where its at.. just like street, except backwards, lol. Put your weight outside instead of inside.

ive raced my share of mx but i havent raced anything serious for several years.I love a good MX track but not much into SX stuff. i love woods ridding and will definatly make some serious laps on that 6.5 mile enduro course!! Im not super fast but i can ride gppd enough to not be in last lol

You're absolutely right there is no racing (off the track) when on the streets, but in the dirt roosting one another is common place/fun and in order to roost someone else you must be quicker than said person in different sections....
