Although this isn't an R1 I thought there might be some experts than may have some thoughts.

History 2000 R6- I bought this motor from my buddy. He rebuilt it then 200 miles later the intake cam burns up from a plugged oil galley at the head gasket. This is a used head and I cleaned out all the oil galleys in the motor. I finally started it up tonight and it has this funny whine. Give me your input please-

timing chain tension ok? A tight timing chain can cause a whine.

I hear a funny whine everytime I start up my bike too... but once I get a few hundred meters away I can't hear her any more.... :dundun: :crash :fact

Actually on a similar note, you should hear the whine when I buy something new for my bike! :sneaky

just checked the timing tensioner its good. I think I may have a dry cam F! I will be pulling the valve cover off tomorrow :(
