I know its an R1-forum but... im pretty shure most Slipper clutches are the same for installing...and i know alot of you guys from way back then are pretty knowledgeable lol I was wondering if anyone knew the basics of installing the slipper clutch in my 07 450 SMR? I think i pretty much have it down is there anything i should be awear of? any tips? The STM manual dosint really say much. Just how the clutch it self should be assembled. Any help would be awesome :) Although there is somthing i am confused with... There was some rods that came with my STM kit and it does not mention it at all in the STM manual i got... It seems to hold the steel plates in place. It also seems that the once the secondary Spring Ring is all bolted down to the hub and bearings inbetween no longer can move, the drum dosint separate itself in a twisting motion (disengaging) like the STM clutch for my R6 does (i know they are completly differant types of clutch) but does this sound normal?? Also dosint mention what to tq the bolts to in the manual too. Anyone know what Tq/ N.M they are suppose to be Tq'd to? Heres some pics rods i had questioned, and placement http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/Aresixxer/Picture6197Large.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/Aresixxer/Picture6198Large.jpg I assume what the clutch should look like. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/Aresixxer/Picture6199Large.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/Aresixxer/Picture6200Large.jpg Dont expect any one to know this question but incase someone does... does the stock/OEM nut and lock washer go on the end of the spline shaft at stock/OEM/manuf. Tq settings?

Did you have to leave out the first and last steal spacer? I have an 05 KTM SMR and installed my STM clutch, but the engine spins up and doesn't totally engage. I took the clutch apart and see that the first steal spacer is spinning, I want to take at least the first on out and am thinking of removing the last as well. All other STM slippers start with a fiber plate and end with a fiber plate. My stock plates start with a steal spacer and end with a steal spacer; I think if I leave them out it may work.
