Greetings,
Does anyone know how long AMSoil will last ?
I ordered a crate for my 98/99 R1 which used to drink oil what, a few years back...
Now I have a Gixer, after the Volvo demise of my poor R1, I never have to top her up, and I have still half a crate, sealed bottles of course. Does it have a shelf life as such ?

I dont know of anything in oil to "expire". I would say use it, no matter how long it had sat around.
Organic oil breaks down and forms bacteria over time. Synth lasts pretty much forever.

If the oil is sealed it will last a long time. The problem you may run into is does it still meet the oil spec's of the vehicle it will be used in. Oil spec's change every few years and in a newer vehicle it may not be good for that application.
Someone mentioned in an earlier post about bacteria. Not sure what they are talking about. May be they are talking about which one is more biodegradable. In that case synthetic oil depending on it's base is usually a little more biodegradable than petroleum oil is.

George,
Thanks. Good news, it is sealed in the quart bottles. And is OK for my model - the oil isn't THAT old
I didn't buy it 98/99 :D
