Remove the chain. Problem solved. :crash Seriously, probably every dirt bike-turned-supermoto will do this with a 160 size tire. Try this: http://www.motostrano.com/smfahocrsuch.html (http://www.motostrano.com/smfahocrsuch.html)

I've also seen the idlers like what you have above the chain for when the suspension is compressed. It could be that the wheel isn't dished to account for the larger tire. SMJ has a pretty good thread on tire sizes on 'tards. One thing that's brought up is that 160 series tires are not all the same width.

If you REALLY want to go all out redneck, loosen up the spokes on the chain side of the wheel and tighten up the ones on the right. good for about 1/4". :crash

Oh really? Why don't they like the spacer kits? If you leave it, you'll get a cool little pattern on your tire..seen it..

I can help if you consider a spacer kit. I've used it on my WR450 without any issues.:fork www.launchzone.ca (http://www.launchzone.ca) :fork

Larry, mine does the same thing with the 160 tire. don't sweat it, it isn't a problem. It will take some small chunks out of the tire but it isn't an issue. We are going to have a blast on the motards this year at the convention!! Just don't let eddie ride it on any dirt roads....hahahahaha

I ve decided to go with a 150 rear, i guess it was just to wide on the 4.25 rim....:crash

Even if it is, I heard you had to be fast for it to matter :crash

Even my KTM SMR rubs, and it came that way from the factory. The offset spoke idea - that is very common to do on a SM, so its not a crazy idea. Derek

Not me. I have Excel rims, Talon hubs and put a spacer in and the chain still rubs. I'm working things out with the company I bought it from as they screwed up on my order. I told them I wanted a 150 rear, but they shipped me a 160. Dunlop doesn't make 150's, so why didn't they catch it? :rant

i have a 160 shinko on mine. I didnt have the extra cash before the convention last year for better tires but i was really amazed at how well the shinkos worked on the motard & they are super cheap to buy. I rode with the guy from launch zone (cant remeber his damn name lol) but we called him the can-asian (asian guy living in canada) and he is a super nice guy & an awsomely fast rider. We were at the gap for the supermoto junkies convention in may last year.
