Yoshi_99R1 04-19-2008, 04:09 AM This is my new Swiss weapon of choice 2008 Husaberg FS650E. The R1 is a distant memory. I won't ever get another sportsbike after riding this.
The only mods so far are Barkbuster handguards and axle sliders. i have plans for a RAAS, Remus, SR, or Akra exhaust/slip on and a Lineweaver jet kit. It should kick it upwards for 65-70hp. I also have the FE mud guard to fit to it this weekend.

steepisgood 04-28-2008, 07:58 AM I sold my 04 R1 and got my 05 husaberg FS 650C and made it street legal in New York. It is great...
plimmer 04-28-2008, 01:06 PM Looks awesome. What's it like to ride?
Yoshi_99R1 04-28-2008, 08:15 PM It is has obviously less power then the R1 but it is quicker except on the the straights but straights are boring. It will power wheelie in most gears and is easier to to stoppies on. Riding in the rain is fun and when i stack it, it will cost me 30 bucks for plastics compared to nearly 400 a section on my R1.

Sweet man. I want a C model to race next year.
carbonduke 06-01-2008, 03:12 PM That is a sweet Berg you got there. :rock:rock
I am the same way like you are, after 3 R1s i got enough of the riding position , and switched to a more relaxed naked bike (06 Super Duke), however my hearth goes toward my first love with motorcycles. A well jetted single with open exhaust Worth to mention that traffic is getting worst and worst, so there is no need for 120+HP, and I can go just as fast or faster on my Duke2 than on the SD. Thumpers rule!!! So I sold the SD 2 weeks ago, and bought a 640 SM with full Akra titanium exhaust. Although she is cool she is nowhere near the Duke2 with the FCR41. That is the next step. I bet your Berg comes with the FCR. If not that is a MUST. Once again congrats on your new ride she is sweet. Keep on tarding:thumbup:thumbup
carbonduke 06-01-2008, 03:21 PM Just read up on it, and yes of course it does come with the FCR. They are raving about the bike in the review. 112 kg and 65 HP. that thing is a monster.
Speed_Devil 06-01-2008, 05:09 PM Very nice.
Yoshi_99R1 06-05-2008, 10:10 PM Yeah it is a bit of a weapon. i may sell it the end of next year a SM an 09 FE570 Berg.
yankin&bankin 06-16-2008, 10:24 AM So how does this compare with a KTM 690?
Yoshi_99R1 06-17-2008, 05:05 AM More power and less weight.

What about longevity?
Will it stand up to being run wide open for extended periods?
For example, when riding with other guys on crotch rockets?
I've found that this is the limiting factor with singles--many of them are too high-strung, without enough oil capacity and cooling capacity to be run at 75% throttle or more, during a 300-mile sport ride.
None will be perfect, but the conventional wisdom seems to be that the KTM 690 "has the right stuff" for high-speed, long-duration street rides.
Yoshi_99R1 07-16-2008, 08:49 PM It is a high performance machine like the SXV or a WR or CRF. It isn't designed for being pinned open for kilometres. When i ride with my mates on there litre bikes i let them take off on the straights them hammer them in the twisties. I am a fan of short twisty roads then long road rides. If i wanted that i would go for a Sunday drive in my car.
It will hit 200kms/h easily. I change oil every 500kms that is another reason i couldn't be f*&ked riding long distances.
Like the Berg I think the limiting factor for the 690 in terms of long distance would be how high your pain threshold. The seats on these things aren't the softest
rideForrestride 08-22-2008, 08:25 AM I love it. Stinks, closest 'Burg dealer is all the way across the state from where I'm at.

Some update pics. I got my new exhaust. I went for a full Akrapovic and rejet. I wanted a RAAS but my Czech wasn't the best, it was hard trying to order one. I got it rejetted on the dyno. It made 63hp up from 57hp. It was mad before the exhaust it is crazy now. When i got it, the bung/spark arrestor was the first thing to go. As seen in the second last pic.
The last pic is my new scissor lift stand. Best buy in a while. Hopefully a Suter slipper clutch in a week or two. My FE Mud guard will be going on this weekend as well.
