I'd like to know also. My technician lives and dies by it on his 06 GSXR 1k and my cousin just switched to it like 2 oil changes ago on his 02 R1 and he says the bike runs a little cooler and shifts a lot smoother. Anymore inputs? I got my bike serviced at around 1300 miles and used the regular Motul for now but the next oil change I want to switch to a good synthetic!! I have another friend that runs Royal Purple fully synthetic but he pays like $65 just for oil!!! WOW Is Royal Purple that good?

I just bought some and will try it on my next oil change. I have been using Amsoil for the past 3 years and never had a problem until now ( I think Im not sure if the oil has something to do with it). Whats been happening with Amsoil is that it seams it gets too thin/wears off quickly. I say this because after 800 miles the bike starts to shift roughly especially when it warms up. But again I swear by Amsoil so I have to truly say that I am not sure if the oil is causing it. I will know soon, as soon as the F%^king weather gets nice and try out this Repsol oil

been using it since my first oil change. Would'nt buy anything else. My friend's R1 was bought a day after mine he used a diff brand of oil and his engine is a lot noisier. I told him it was the oil. He only believed me after he filled his up with Repsol and he noticed it was a lot smoother but my engine was still in better shape, not too much rattling.

The use of any Premium Synthetic will, in most cases, give you a few things. Cooler oil Temps, Smoother Shifting, Less Engine Noise, More HP, Better Fuel Mileage and less wear. Regardless of Brand, I always recommend a MotorCycle Specific oil with a JASO Rating of MA, better yet, MA 2, but never MB Doc .

Well I switched to the REPSOL last week w/ an OEM Yamaha filter and I must say that I'm IN LOVE!! The bike shifts so much smoother, runs quieter/smoother, it even seems to run a little different. The motor doesn't seem as loose. I wouldn't say it's slower to redline but the power delivery is a little different. I haven't added any performance mods between the oil changes either.

I been using this Repsol oil for the past month now with 2 track days. I have to say it is fawking fantastic, worth every penny. I have about 1200 miles on it and shifting is as smooth as the first day I put it in, everything is smoother. The other "brand names" always worked fine on my honda but always seemed to wear out quickly on my Yamaha, reason why I decided to give Repsol a try and worked great. I highly recommend this oil

I have been running it in my 04 ZX-10 trackbike since I put it on the track in 05. Never had any problems! I did notice that the bike did run a little cooler. Great shifting. The bike has 11,000 miles on it of which probably 7000 are track. I change the oil out every 3 to 4 trackdays.

I had almost 10K on my bike for the last oil change with AMSOIL. When I changed, I sent a sample in for analysis. 2 other bikes running the same oil had the same mileage and were sampled as well. The 2 others came back "No Corrective Action Required, Continue to Next Regular Service Interval" . But on my bike, The oil itself was OK but showed Elevated Silicon (Dirt) and Elevated wear Metals... The only difference betwen my bike and theirs ? The K&N air filter that was on my bike.. The K&N has now been replaced with the AMSOIL Filter. What I am trying to show is 1: All bikes are not the same, even when they are the same. 2: you cannot tell the condition of the oil or the type of job it is doing just by looking at it. Oil Analysis is required and it is worth every penny of the $24.00 I will pay every change. I also learned a lesson with mine. I now keep an empty water bottle with enough oil in it for a couple more tests as they wanted to test another sample AND my filter. I still had the filter so I took it with me to Corporate last week to have it tested along with a sample of my next change where the air filter was changed part way through. Bob Schultz

I don't like Royal Purple. I was using it in a stock internals racing application from an 04 canibalization (we put the engine in a Radical and raced it in DSR). The engine had about 2k miles on it and spun the #3 lower bearing, knocked a big hole in the case and there was some top end damage. Cost us a 3 hour endurance race not to mention a couple grand for another engine. We were using their 10W-40 full synthetic race oil, it appeared to have long term damage from the high RPM. Moved to Silkolene the last 2 races of that season and all of the following season (before the car was totaled in an accident) and there was no issue again.
