So I looked around here for a good few minutes (okay more like 2 seconds) and I couldn't find what torque setting is called for on the oil drain plug?
I'm guessing around 30 ft lbs? btw its for an 04 R1

43 Newton-Meters or ~31.5 ft-lbs. DerrickWade 05-23-2008, 01:13 AM :thumbup Mr.Crash 05-25-2008, 11:18 AM Ok cool. I actually just saw this post after torquing her down to 31 lbs.
Thanks alot guys.
P.S.- Do you guys just tighten the filter by hand? I noticed there isn't much clearance between the top of the oil filter and #1 cyl. header tube so it makes getting a torque wrench in there difficult. SAB 05-25-2008, 11:48 AM I only hand tighten my oil filter. Make sure you snug it up well though. It takes a few turns to crush the rubber seal and get a good connection. A helpful trick is to use one of those rubber jar-openers to get a good grip.
Don't forget to check for leaks after you finish the job.
A good trick xdonniedarkox 05-26-2008, 08:13 AM I recall it being around 30ft.lbs Mr.Crash 05-26-2008, 09:55 AM I recall it being around 30ft.lbs
