I wanted to knock my bike over last summer fighting with the 04-06 oem cap. it was hot as hell and the cap felt like it was welded on, damn rubber "bootay" kept slippin out fuhker is so shallow.... let me stop it can be a royal pain in the ass, bout to punch my monitor the frustration is still with me a year later lol!!!! Matt7676 05-30-2008, 03:18 PM shop said it was one of the toughest they have had. Went there and bought my stuff and they did it for me :) They saw it as a challenge

you know the engineers got a laugh out of that one.
i had the same problem and the tire iron did the trick Iman81 07-05-2008, 01:39 PM Just take a large wrench and turn it so the side of the head fits in the slot. lefty loosey, and without effort you're done. Matt7676 07-05-2008, 04:02 PM I bought an aftermarket one and I love it. Like I said I had the shop take it off by pounding on that sucker with a screwdriver tmcj 07-09-2008, 09:51 AM what am i missing here?? my cap is a normal oil fill cap. there's no slot, it's a raised rib in the center and it turned right off. did yamaha fix this issue for the '08's or something? | |
