twism2 05-30-2008, 04:54 PM I purchased the bike in October of '07 and trailered it back to my shop thinking I was going to do some minor mods; wheels, exhaust, rearsets, etc...then I got to really liking the 240 rearends and emailed McCoys about a swingarm and wheel deal; Bart called me personally to get something set-up. I seen a pic of a swingarm from C & S and asked Bart if they could build me one of those; he wasn't sure but he'd see what they would do; few days go by and he said they would; I gave the green light for the 300 single sided from C & S and the rest is a much longer story...
Yes I know I took the "sport" out of sportbike; Dad is already impressed:crash but this is just me:

Am doing somthing close to it but am going with the 240 instead of the 300. swingarm is coming from C&S and am getting it threw McCoys aswell. Order my stuff over 2 months ago now but still waiting on the swingarm to be completed which is taking alot longer that I was told at the start. Did they take long with your swingarm also?
twism2 06-01-2008, 06:12 AM Bike looks sweet dog!!

if you want the best go with C & S; i seen spyder racing did a SS recently but they make theirs out of square tubing; as far as length i don't know if they'd be able to go any shorter than mine; mines about 10+ over and i asked for the shortest possible stretch;
give them a call or Bart at McCoys and he can get ya a package setup:thumbup but i'm going to warn ya; nows the wrong time to be ordering; it's the busy season bro:dunno can't wait to see yours

machz69 06-06-2008, 03:27 AM Yeah I hear you.. I'm just trying to figure out a path right now. I'll tell you, I'm not sure how it is for cops where your at but here, it's just nuts. To the point that I got pulled over and charged for a lane light?? what ever the hell that is?..
I love the wheelie the bike and high speeds. My fear is I'm going to get nailed with a new street racing law. So the options.. sell the bike and get a cruiser:ugh or make my bike not so wheelie, high speed-user freindly...lol. I love the look of the lowered bikes with a 300 rear.
This will be a winter project so I'm not in a real big hurry. I think that doing somehing like this will hold value in the bike wouldn't it?
(ps. ilike the look of the spider man bike in the McCoys cat. not sure what size that rear tire is?)
dionw 06-06-2008, 04:51 AM Bike looks great bro!!! I've beeen wanting to chrome the ends of my exhaust too. Who did yours?
vir1stunn 06-06-2008, 06:29 AM Bike looks awesome. If you don't mind me asking how much did the tire kit cost? I was thinking of getting a 240 or 300 kit was wondering the price difference.

(ps. ilike the look of the spider man bike in the McCoys cat. not sure what size that rear tire is?)
i don't think it adds or takes away from the value of the bike; where i'm from there aren't too many custom sportbikes; just your HD's; that's why i did it; so i can hopefully start building part time because i work a swing shift
the mccoys bike is a 240 i believe; and they say still handles great
twism2 06-06-2008, 10:18 AM Bike looks great bro!!! I've beeen wanting to chrome the ends of my exhaust too. Who did yours?
they're not chrome homie; they're polished because they're titanium

my arm alone was one retirement fund i started 9 months beforehand or $5g's:crash; you got to think about everything else; a 300 back tire alone costs about $300 to $350; longer section of chain for the dual chain set-up; wheel is wider for 300mm so that adds to the cost; either way build what you want and don't let anyone hold ya back; good luck bro:thumbup

R1_Masterpiece 07-15-2008, 12:13 PM Got my stuff yesterday should have some pics posted later today. Question do you have your rear brakes hooked up? Do you use them? How does the chrome on the rotor hold out?
twism2 07-15-2008, 08:35 PM Got my stuff yesterday should have some pics posted later today. Question do you have your rear brakes hooked up? Do you use them? How does the chrome on the rotor hold out?
i have a chrome PM caliper with a r1 chrome wave rotor with a +20 over galfer brake line; but since this thing is now classified as a tank:crash i haven't even touched the rear brake; if you need me to post close up pics let me know bro and i can take some pics tomorrow....
R1_Masterpiece 07-15-2008, 09:03 PM I got the same chrome rotor with the R1 sign in it also. Was going to put on the rear caliper and brake pads but was thinking its going to scratch up the chrome rotor and make it look bad lol. So was just wondering if you had your rear caliper hooked up and if you ever used it and what kinda wear did it put on the chrome rotor. Think am just going to remove the pads out of the caliper to play it safe.
R1_Masterpiece 07-16-2008, 12:34 PM One more question?
I was told i need to remove the bearings ot of my stock swingarm and install them in the C&S swingarm. How hard are the bearings to remove?
twism2 07-16-2008, 01:55 PM One more question?
I was told i need to remove the bearings ot of my stock swingarm and install them in the C&S swingarm. How hard are the bearings to remove?
just buy new ones bro; the one on the non drive side is a needle bearing and you'll prolly ruin it trying to get it out; the one on the drive side is roller bearing so you might be able to be able to pull that one out with a bearing puller:dunno; they run about $50 bucks; just my .02 cents; i wasn't going to cheap out even though my bearings were brand new in the stock arm; 0 miles; plus easier to sell the stock arm:thumbup
twism2 07-16-2008, 02:15 PM here's some pics of the rotor and caliper set-up for ya Masterpiece; haven't even used the back brake yet; no need to yet this thing is a tank; in fact i haven't even bled the rear brakes yet; but this weekend it'll get done; everyday i have off it's raining it seems; hence the pics today:rant
