Hey Guys, Just kinda curious what weight oil you run. I am currently running Semi Synthetic 10w40 Yamalube.

I'm making the switch to Royal Purple 10W40 on my R6 next week. Full synthetic.

Any top brand will do just fine and it's just a matter of advertisement and how pretty the bottle is when it comes to the top brands. I run what my manual calls for which is SAE 10W30. I change my oil every 2500-3000 miles depending on riding style which reduces any chances of failure due to oil. As far as synthetics, you must also keep in mind that most automobile engines don't run their oil through their transmission, which full synthetic was made for (engines). Not saying that it isn't good for transmissions since a better oil "should" be a better oil for all applications. Here is a good read if you are that serious about oil http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Oils1.html

Really? Thats an interesting move. What prompted that choice? I've got 5K on the '06 R6 and want to move up to full synthetic. I wanted to give the RP a try and see how I like it.

Just switched from Mobil1 fully syn to Amsoil, loved the switch, a lot smoother and their oil filter collects a lot more.

if you ride your bike in warmer weather, the 15w-50 is probably the best bet otherwise 10w-40 is a good all around weight. Generally you want to use the heaviest weight oil you can get by in factoring in the climate youll be riding in.

I just dumped some 20w50 yamalube in over the weekend. Also flushed Rads out and filled both bikes up with some new Engine Ice. Guess it was fluid change weekend for me.
