Well, I'd better give credit where credit is due.... I met Eric (Earache) on the forum shortly after purchasing the R1. I found out that he makes frame sliders, among other things, for a hobby and I inquired about getting some. I decided that I wanted some longer ones, to increase the protection, so I ordered a set in 3.5 inches, as well as the swingarm sliders. Total I think they were like $60 or something. When they came about a week later, something was wrong because one of the sliders was just a tad bit off. So I called Eric, he made some new ones right away and sent them out. I shipped back the original ones and we were good as gold... So anyways, one chilly spring day I'm waiting for my wife to get off work. I'm in the supermarket parking lot and bored (uh oh:no ) So I start riding in circles. ROund and round I go... Getting lower, and lower. It was then that the cold tires gave out, and I hit the ground. I remember laying there and hearing/seeing the R1 slide about 20 feet across the parking lot.:ugh When I picked the bike up, NO DAMAGE.:yesnod Well, actually the left side case cover had some small scratches, but the sliders took all of the damage. Wow, best insurance I ever had. Get with Eric, and if he has time he will definitely hook you up with some of the best sliders! Yes, I would have to say that Eric is very easy to deal with. He is honest, helpful and guarantees your satisfaction. What else can you ask for? I got the 2 in aluminum bar sliders, swing arm spool sliders and 3 in frame sliders - all this delivered for $71. Here is the link so you can see what they look like mounted. http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=25634

Eric sounds like a great guy. i have seen some other posts about him, too. I was wanting a different set of frame sliders- i want them a little longer and thicker than what i got. also, some nice swing arm protectors- will not be used for race stand, so groove needed. i used to work at a place with a full machine shop, so i was able to make everything i ever needed. :( but it looks like eric takes care of ya!
