Year: 2003 Model: R1 Eng size: 998cc Pipes: Carbon Fiber 2 bros Seat: Stock Wheels: Factory / Chromed Accessories: Custom paint, flush clear blinkers, rear eliminated, spike bar ends, black levers, PCIII, K&N filter, lowered, pig spotter mirrors. And the story: When I got this bike it was a little rashed up. I saw what it could be though. I mean the thing still ran perfect and had only 5,700 miles on it. The previous owner had wrecked it and got the repo guys knocking at his door for it. I bought it and gave it all the TLC it needed over the winter. New stator case, new battery, Chromed out stock wheels and all the other mods listed above. I did all the work myself including the paint in my garage. Now this thing attracts attention every where I take it. It may not be as tricked out with all the aftermarket upgrade goodies that some of these bikes are, but it looks bad a** and is still one fast R1 ! http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/tail.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/rash.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/100_1210.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/100_1206.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/100_1207.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/100_1074.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o172/Jamin_Creations/100_1071.jpg

Looks great - but I'm not feeling the "R1" sticker.. Looks way too plain!

Not a ROTM material. But I agree with the previous statements. Get a more edgy R1 sticker. Good job on the rebuild though. Looks good.

i liked it a lot!!! mad props to u doing it yourself!! loved the scheme... and leave the sticker!! how do u like that mirror,,,, visibility?? I will be leaving it as everything is painted on the bike > no stickers. I actually hate the visibility in the mirrors, I do not know if it is because i am 6'6" or what but I can not see anything behind me with them. I am going to get some of the billet ones.

Thanx. It gets great responses here locally. Most people seem to love it. I like your LE flame bike. Thats what mine started out as.

Yeah I like it a lot so far I've only had it for 2 months or so now but nothing but good stuff so far. I also noticed you said you are 6'6"... Well we have a couple things in common it looks like cuz I too am 6'6" which makes riding these bikes a chore sometimes, but its much better than my old bikes--> 600RR and CBR F4. Have fun with the new paint job!
