Just heard that they were getting Chad up and he felt light headed. They checked on him and discovered that he had blood clots in this lungs. He is in surgery again now and back on the ventilator. Keep him in your prayers and I'll update as I get information.

Hear us when we cry to you, O Lord our God, and grant that at this time of distress for our brother that we may turn to you in confidence and trust. Touch with your grace and compassion those whose lives are being tried this day. Comfort and sustain all who wait for news of those they love. Draw near to the injured and suffering, that they may find healing and hope in you. Bless the hands and minds and spirits of the physicians, nurses and hospital workers who care for him. Amen.

From Leigh's message and talking to Chad's dad a few minutes ago, here is the update on what is going on: Chad went to sit up on the side of the bed to get him up and he said he didn't feel well. By the time they laid him down he was blue and they called 2 code blue's to stabilize him. They took him for a ct scan and found two pulmonary embolism's at the bottom of both lungs plus clots in his legs. The clots in his lungs had moved there from his legs. They rushed him into surgery where they had to do cpr on him during surgery. He's just come out now and they've put chad in trauma icu. His dad asked if we could tell his friend's to pray for chad and especially that he makes it through the night. His dad told me that the doctors are calling it a miracle that he had some movement after what happened, but that the also said earlier that Chad making it through the night will be a test of prayers to KEEP them coming. They are planning neural scans to access if there is brain damage due to the time he flat lined during the operation. I know it's a hard time for everyone and hard to give everyone the truth on the updates but at this point everyone needs to know the full status as it was when I heard. Please remember this is second hand from his dad and I've had a pretty ruff time over this so I hear anything else I will let everyone know. Chad brotha I love you and will talk to you again tonight brotha... The recovery is gonna be FAST and CLEAN HOMIE!

Hello everyone, this is a rough day for us all. Please tonight when you bow your heads to pray please remember this prayer: Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the plague that destroys at midday.... ...If you make the MOst High your dwelling- even the LORD, who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpen. "Because he loves," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." AMEN PSALMS 91 Please pray and pray and pray for Chad and his family. Keep them in your thought always and be with him through the power of prayer. I have seen this large family help someone out and we can do it again. Pull through Chad, you are strong and have a lot of people here for you. We love you!

This is all very hard for me to read. The reasons are many. SOme are selfish and some are selfless. Chad is one of the greatest guys I ever had the pleasure to me, talent and phsical conditioning aside. I only met him this past week at the convention, but bantered and chatted back and forth on here with him. He reminds me of a very great friend of mine when I was living in Conyers GA back in 89-91. He is truly the classic example of a "Georgia Boy," polite, nice and heart of gold. What scares me on a personal level about reading all this is I know that Pulmonary Emboli are a complication of surgery, not a complication of his injury. This is personal because my wife is going in tomorrow at 8am to have 3 verabrae fused because of degenerative disk disease. So now, not only am I worried about Chad, I am thinking the worst about tomorrow. Mainly because of the irony that my wife put off her surgery so that I could come down and meet all you wonderful people and have a summer blow out to myself before I was totally occupied with her care and doing 100% around the house and for our kids for the next 3 months while she lays recovering and waiting for bone to grow and heal. To add to all this, I found out on my way home Sunday that her aunt died. SO she is pretty tore up about that as well. But due to the severity of her back pain and the fact she would have to wait about 6 weeks to reschedule, she is going through with it. So now she has a world of guilt on her shoulders. All kidding and selfishness aside, pray for our friend/family/brother/son, however you know him. This is a VERY serious condition. But, thank God, he was in the BEST place he could have been for this to happen. Hands down.

What scares me on a personal level about reading all this is I know that Pulmonary Emboli are a complication of surgery, not a complication of his injury. He's been stationary since last Wednesday. Not sure if he was getting PT during this time to keep his legs from forming clots but they could have been formed prior to the surgery and let go in the last 24 hours. Prolonged anestesia during surgery can also cause this. You have every right to be apprehensive, but I believe your wife may have a better chance than you believe.

We always ask that your will be done because that is what you command us to support. We trust there is a reason for this injury and for this pain. We are a second family for each other and pray for Chad as a brother in Christ and a forum and riding brother as well. We pray for Chad's complete recovery and know that you control all things. Please be with Chad God. Please cradle him in your loving hands and heal his body. Lord, this group cannot loose another great guy again. We just cannot take it. Not Chad, and not now. We always ask that your will be done because that is what you command us to support. We trust there is a reason for this injury and for this pain. We are a second family for each other and pray for Chad as a brother in Christ and a forum and riding brother as well. We pray for Chad's complete recovery and know that you control all things. Please be merciful and heal him. In your name we ask these things...Amen. Thank YOU ;)

Every time I try to post I end up in a mess of tears. I am so distressed at this news but I take comfort in prayer and in knowing that Chad has so many good friends pulling for and contributing to his full recovery. I feel huge thanks toward those of you who are going now to be with Chad and my prayers are with you as well. You carry with you all of our good wishes and our hearts are with you in your travels. I know how hard it is to drive when concerns and worries for a dear friend are high, but try to stay calm and be safe on the road. I will keep you in my thoughts and I will keep praying, as hard as I have been since I heard this news. Please tell me if I can help in any way at all and send everyone's love and care to Chad. I hope that in the morning I will hear that he is well enough to post pictures of him in his bicycling shorts. Thanks for the prayers, guys. Keep 'em coming. Please God be with Chad tonight and as he heals. We all want to see him happy and healthy and strong again.

It sounds like there's several people on their way, now. Earlier today, before learning of this issue, I had PM'd several people requesting info about the hospital he's at, visiting hours, etc....as I was planning on visiting him Wednesday morning just to say hello, cheer him up, and sneak him in some contraband. I rearranged some work schedules to be able to do that....I only wish I had been able to travel there this afternoon. My nature, as an engineer, is to fix things, solve problems, create solutions, and I sit here entirely helpless and frustrated that I can't fix this........or I damn sure would. I'm praying I will still be visiting Chad this week, if not to personally visit him then to be there to deliver a show of support for his family & friends from what has to be hundreds of other friends he has through these forums and motorcycling. Fight the good fight, GA"warrior"........ I hope to be seeing you in a couple of days. I'll trade ALL convention trips to be able to complete this trip. :fact

Prayers are going out all night Chad! Hang in there because the 2009 convention is right around the corner and you can't miss that! Never would I have imagined that 2 months ago buying an R1 would bring me to this point. Never would I have believed that I would have met such a great group of people that give so selfishly and are so willing to help a complete stranger at the drop of a hat. I am honored to be a part of this family and can not wait to grow with you all. Lord, tonight we ask of you to watch over our brother. We ask that you guide his doctors and nurses and keep him healthy and strong. Please give strength to his family in this time of peril and please watch over our brothers and sisters who are traveling to be by his side. but those that hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 Amen

I tried sleeping tonight but I just could not. I have been up constantly praying and checking this thread hoping not to find anymore bad news. I have been thinking about all the wonderful things this forum has done since Stephen and I have been a part of it. I remember Stephen first getting on the forum and he would just sit and laugh and type and laugh and type at everyone messing with each other. Then he started calling people off the forum asking for help and I remember that Chad was one of the first guys he was calling. Everyone was always so quick to help out if anyone had any problems. Then came our first Convention, this is when I truly saw the support of this forum family. In 2006 when Stephen wrecked on the skyway. This family pulled together in amazing ways for Stephen as well as for Kflexx that year when he was taken from us. Shane and the McCoys, Chad, Kevin, Brian and many others made sure that I had everything that I needed and everyone said their prayers like they are tonight. Then I saw it all again when Glenn was taken from us this last year. That was a heartbreaker for me because I had just met Glenn the year before at the gap and he was very friendly and welcoming. It is just amazing how this family pulls together each year and people drive across the country to see friends that some have never met before, only online. I wish that I could have made it to the trackday for Glenn but Stephen filled me in on all the wonderful events that took place. Now theres Chad and once again, I am seeing us all pull together and pray for one of our own. Chad is a huge part of this family, getting us together and setting up the events that take place each year at our "family reunion" that is what I consider the convention. Each time I think of what he is going through I just pray. I have been in tears on and off each time I read a post from someone and I just feel the emotion in it. I am sorry for the long post but I feel as though it needed to be said. This is a great family and I am so glad the Stephen, Shane and I are a part of it. You guys and gals mean a lot to us and I would not trade anything that I have experienced with you all for the world. Chad, please stay strong and remember that you have a wonderful extended family praying for you. I will have a prayer circle in the morning at work for you with a guy who is a pastor as well. I have many people here in OK that are praying for you that do not know you but pray for your recovery.

Hands down. I recently descovered I have degenerated disk disease, I am having treatment at the moment, I have just got away with not having to have my disks fused and count myself lucky for now but know that it will eventually happen, good luck to you and your wife.

First I am thankful for the people that have called me and let me know what is going on. The text from Shane this morning. Chad means allot to me as he does to you all. He has been and will always be my motorcycle guiding light. Sometimes that gets me in trouble (07 R1). Sometimes it brings you back (after my crash I lost my ride skills, till glenns trackday where Chad placed his hand on my shoulder and helped me around the track again). But most of all Chad's love of life is what I think draws us all to him. So much so that Stu and I talked about it this year. It takes a great man to have so many great friends that love and care for him. Chad you will be back to being Chad again soon. My best thoughts are with you and I wish I had the leave time to come to you, but sadly I do not.

Just got off the phone with Eddie and Ned. They are heading back home as I type this. They said they will let friends in the room to see Chad during the visiting hours. From what Eddie said Chad seems to respond a little when he he is being spoken to but is still heavily sedated. He is by far not out of the woods yet but doing better.

I hope he knows who is there with him and can hear/understand how much we are all pulling for him (even if he won't remember later). I just know our prayers and support are helping!

Shane, if there is ANYTHING I can do to help you facilitate this, call me immediately. You have my number. I am pretty tight on cash right now, but I can handle $50 for a game or whatever it can be used for to help our brotha! I am sitting here bored at the hospital with m laptop and wireless card anyway. So I might as well be constructive. Same goes for us!:rock

At 5pm Easter (20 min from now) everyone take 1 min (60 seconds) out of your day and lets all say a little prayer for Chad. All of us, at once. Just a moment of silent prayer or thought. Doesn't have to be fancy. Just a moment when we are all praying together. Let the lord hear our prayer all at once. Thanks.
