2000 model (UK) YZF R1 998cc Leo Vince full race pipe Nikko g-pak Factory stage 2 kit Gearing dropped 1 tooth front sprocket Gillera DNA cowl one off custom made header tank Paint is ford focus STI orange, seat's Leather with tuning forks logo'ed in. Hadn't had bikes for a while then got diagnosed with cancer in 2004, sitting in my hospital bed I could see the road up the local hills, in the evening you could hear the bikes screaming up the long drag, I knew if I made it, I had to have a bike again. After the chemo and a major operation, and the M.R.S.A super bug, (took me 8 months to beat that) I finally got back to work and saved enough to buy and build another machine. Here she is.

I’ve been thinking of turning my ’01 into a streetfighter and lucky I ran into this thread. First, Romulan congrats on beating cancer and that’s a sweet looking bike. I have couple of questions regarding the control setup. What triple tree, risers, and handlebars did you use? Did you have to lengthen any cables, wires, and brakelines? Thanks!

Hi Redrone, The top yokes are a billet conversion made by LSL (with risers),Handle bars are rethals, it's got Faser thou' front brake master cylinder, with Hell Fazer thou' hoses, Fazer choke cable, clutch cable stock and the throttle cables are stock, I had to do alot of fiddling with the cable loom to get it tucked away, and had a coolant expansion tank made to replace the standard plastic tat.:riding

Bike looks good, and congrats on the health and I only wish you more good luck in the future. I know where you are coming from as my wife is battling brain cancer as we speak. It is a one day at a time disease and remember to live every day to it's fullest. Good Luck Bro'
