Ok. So im about to get some new tires for my R1. I bought it recently and the tyres it came with need replacing. Now i am confused on which to get. Before anyone and everyone tells me to go read the threads i have spent days doing that and read every one but i still cant decide on a tyre. There is a lot of ? use these tyres and they are really good' type comments or dont use those because they are crap etc etc. But i dont know what type of riding or conditions or ability that these riders have. So i was hoping to give you experts my details and hopefully can help me decide on a tyre. So anyway i have been riding for years-dirt bikes, cruisers (not harleys) and have a 62 Triumph. I consider myself an experienced rider but have only (6 months) just got myself an R1. So at the moment i can go ok on the R1 but am not going around corners like stoner so definitly not pushing my tyres to their limit. But having said that i wish to go do some track days and improve on my sportbike riding so i guess a tyre i use should reflect the fact i will be pushing a bit harder in the near future. Im dont give crap about how much wear i get from them particularly as i only ride in fine conditions for pleasure, not for daily transport. I just want somehting that willl be really grippy on dry twisty corners. (Note: i live / ride on the Great Ocean Road in Australia if that means anything). Well thats about me in a nutshell and neew new tyres that would be perfect for ME. Am i just thinking too hard and the case is that any top brand tyre will do me fine?. Im sure that is true to a certain extent but im sure one brand/model of tyre would be slightly preferable to my situation. A lot of people on here seem to love pilot powers and was leaning this way but then thought about the PP 2CT's but would i need them over the standard PP's. (They cost more although that really isnt an issue). I have been recomended Bridgestone by friends (model?) and my local motorcycle mechanic is reccomendeding Continental sport attack's. As i said im sure any will do me but im still confused. Should i put all the brands etc on a dartboard, put a blindfold on and throw a dart to see which one it lands on. As i said, am i thinking too hard !!? Please help guys !!. Cheers
