Anyone know of a good deal on a set of tire warmers? Also was thinking of trying to power these off of an inverter from the battery on the tow vehicle. Is this possible...how much power do they draw?

They draw about 1000 watts (500 a piece) give or take. Your best bet is to get a generator.
I have a set of Chicken Hawks and have used them for the past 3 seasons and have not had a problem. My next set will be these:

I have seen a lot of them at the track and everyone I asked who had them stated they were great. fast03r1 07-27-2008, 03:11 PM After checking around I thought a 2000 watt generator would be the best bet. And thanks for the heads up on the warmers...looks like a good deal! GPD270 07-27-2008, 06:47 PM After checking around I thought a 2000 watt generator would be the best bet. Yeah the 2000 watt Honda generator(Inverter) is a nice one. Plus it would give you some exra juice to run a nice big fan for those hot trackdays. lawman118 07-27-2008, 10:10 PM I have a set of DMP's I got new for $200 off the wera board from a store in Cali. You can usually find them and the motogp sets on ebay for about $230. I haven't had any issues with them. You might also want to check out harbor freight for a generator. I got a 4500 watt with electric start for $400 new. Mountain Lion 07-27-2008, 10:11 PM If you don't mind used stuff, search and wait around on the wera/ccs boards and you can find a nice used set of std CH's for ~$220. I got new looking pole positions this winter for $250. Off season probably helps with price however. You can find just about anything for sale in the off season. Thats a sweet price for the Pole Postions. fast03r1 07-28-2008, 07:48 PM Thanks for the info guys. I'll probably end up going with the set from tenn2cycles. There are some used ch sets with buy it now on flea bay but you don't know if they have been running off the tires or not. Found a good deal on a generator on craigslist too! | |
