Blue03R1 07-30-2008, 08:33 AM Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't posted here in a wayle, busy with a little one. Ok, I am about to put some new shoes on the beast, I need your opinions!
I plan on doing some track days but overall it will be daily commute and possibly some joy rides!
So, What do you think I should get?
Metzler M3=?
Michelin Pilot Power=?
Michelin Pilot 2CT=?
Others choices=?
Thank you in advance
P.S- sorry about the speling but I can't seam to find the button for the spell check.
NeonspeedRT 07-30-2008, 08:42 AM I had the Metzler M3's on my 900RR. I loved them. They warmed up quick, had good grip in the corners and seemed to have good tread life. I had about 4000 miles on them when I sold the 900 and they still had plenty of tread left.
I've heard great things about the Pilot 2CT's also. I may actually try those on my R1 when my current tires need replacing.
yankin&bankin 07-30-2008, 09:09 AM Sounds like either the Metzeler or the Pilot Power would be good choices, since you'd like to hit some twisties and maybe do a track day.
If you're not an extremely aggressive rider, you'll probably get several thousand miles out of either of these tires.
Blue03R1 07-30-2008, 09:16 AM Thank you guys! How about the pilot power NO 2CT? Are they any good(compared to our stock ones)?
Sabian 07-30-2008, 09:26 AM Diablo Corsa III from Pirelli if you plan to still ride the street.
AZRider 07-30-2008, 10:18 AM I just got the Pirelli Diablo Rosso's from motorcycle-superstore. Got front and rear to my door for $234.00! (had a coupon too) I absolutely love these tires, better than the dunlop qualifiers. This time I tried a 180 rear and I will never go back to 190. Bike feels like it rides on rails in the corners and turn in is 50% better. Although I got 6000 miles out of the dunlop the pirelli's make me feel more comfortable & confident.
Seriously check out the rosso's, the great thing is that there's no tread near the outside of the tire, giving way more grip in full lean. Who needs rain grooves when fully leaned over? I know i ride upright in the rain, so it makes sense. Nice job pirelli! Customer for life!

Run a 190/55...the reason you like the 180 si because of the profile (55 series). Run that 190 in a taller profile and you'll never go back to a 180 again. :fact

I'd say give them a try if hard street riding and a track day is in your future. Same harder center as the regular Pilot Powers, but with the softer edges.
