Hi people,
i have found a great chart

but my dealer counsel me a 10W-50.
but she dont figure in this chart.
so can you give me the temperature range of this oil (full synth)

these #s are viscosity ratings , the lower the #, the lower the temperature it will pour at for the first one , the W means its winter rating ,
the second # is for how high a temperature it can handle without thinning out .
if you get frost you should change it to a 5W/30 , but who drives bikes in -30*C..
The temperature for a 10/50 oil is from -20 to +50*C.
I use the Castrol R4 superbike oil 10W/50 fully synt

When did engine tolerances no longer have a bearing on oil weight? Everyone is caught up on temperature, but what if you run an oil weight heavier than the operator manual calls for. Does this not lead to premature engine wear if the oil is too thick to reach tight tolerance gaps?
