AR1ZERONINE 09-08-2009, 08:30 PM dont meant to burst your bubble buddy but thats not a 50th anniversary. ur missing the ohlins front and back suspension and also the gold marchesini rims. u basically only have the plastics. what made the bike special along with a $18,000 price was what ur missing . No offense maybe u dont know
yella_r1 09-08-2009, 08:33 PM uh actually it is mate, the 500 bikes australia got didnt come with that gear.. pretty sure that extra ohlins gear those bikes got where another special run in the states..?
Cool bike. Might want to trade the Chuck's for some proper boots though. Ankle injuries are one of the most common in moto accidents.

couldn't agree more, some matching Alpine Star pants to match your jacket would be another positive for you too... aftermarket parts are replaceable your skin isn't.
Rhynocerus 09-09-2009, 07:25 PM ... aftermarket parts are replaceable your skin isn't.
Actually if you want to get really technical about it your skin is replaceable. :hammer:

Don't wish to burst your bubble buddy but that is a fully fledged 50th Anniversary R1 :fact
What you are talking about is a 50th Anniversary LE which, as you rightly say, had the Ohlins etc and a numbered plate on the triple.
You can apologize to him later i'm sure he'll accept.
No offense I guess you didn't know :owwn3d
Nice bike yella and Welcome to the Forum :hellobye. I think there are a couple of people who would agree when I tell you I am slightly partial to the Anniversary model :rock :lol

Sorry buddy but it most certainly is a 50th as they're two types the LE's with all the extras and the regular 50th's that just were regular 06's with the anniverary body work. There were also SP in many other countries, as such he has no reason to consider his bubble burst!!:dundun::dundun:
Sorry Redgecko - missed your post when I was pointing out the bloody obvious!!

i understand , Im not hatin on the kid. You and him have the cheap version of the 50th anniversary. DOnt be mad at me cuz you couldnt have the *FULLY FLEDGED* LIMITED EDITION number plated r1. Anyone can put those plastics on and say they have a 50th anniversary. Go Bl0w boogie now if ur not already.:fact

I wasn't "hatin" on you, I was simply correcting you in the same tone as you replied to the OP but as you don't seem to want to further your knowledge and can't take it as good as you give it, I will refrain in the future.
But you could be right, it could just be because all I have is a cheap standard look-a-like LE :cryin although I do have a wristband on my brake reservoir :flex:

You can't possibly be this stupid!! There are no such things as "full fledged" and "cheap versions" of the 50th Anniversary bikes, there are regular 50th's and LE's. I can also tell you that I (and I can tell from Redgecko's photos) have much more on the bike than any run of the mill "full fledged" 50th.
Free advice here - the best course of action when you've clearly made a mistake (and aggressively put to boot) is to apologize and then STFU rather than continue to provoke!! This makes you come across as both stupid and an ass hat!!:hammer::hammer:

i didnt make a mistake u moron. I was just tellin the kid what i know as to be a 50th anniversary edition here in the states. I didnt know the kid was from australia and that they dont get the most desirable parts of a 50th anniversary wich is the rims and the suspension. He just has plastics. now get off my D*k along with the rest of the people that didnt uderstand what i wrote.

As for you my burger king loving friend. Go buy a bike and get you some riding time maybe then you wouldnt have enough time to be the top poster on this forum. Maybe you can ask redgecko to let you ride his , he seems to idolize you. To me it still is not the 50th anniversary just a regular r1 With 50th anniversary look a like plastics.
Get a life b00gie or a bike either or.:fingr:

You need to go back to grade three and learn how to write as its painful to try to read your posts -- irrespective of the fact that they simply make no sense and are factually incorrect. If you fail to comprehend what I've written feel free to check with little Jimmy at recess!! :dundun::dundun::dundun:

Give it up, you are still giving out incorrect information, the 50th Anniversary in the States did not have the Ohlins etc on it, the 50th Anniversary LE did.
2 different models but both 50th Anniversary models, yes one is has a higher level of equipment on it but that's what makes it an LE not an Anniversary.
BTW the name calling doesn't make your argument any more solid :no
Here is a pic of my lowly, poorly equipped R1, that clearly shows it is an Anniversary edition :fact

They got them parts overseas, just the bike would have been a different color.
If you wanted the most "desirable" parts(performance & not looks). You were better off getting after market instead of stock yamaha versions. < A little research on each part, you will find out what Iam talking about.

oldracer27 09-13-2009, 12:29 PM Hey Yella, welcome to the forum.
Yes, the '06 50th Anniversary editions are the most beautiful R1s
Actually there were three versions in the US in '06
YZF R1 - Black Metalic X (SMX/0903) & Deep Purplish Blue Metallic C (DPBMC/0564)
YZF R1 SP - 50th Anniversary Edition - Reddish Yellow Cocktail 1 (RYC1/0252)
YZF R1 LE - Limited Edition - Reddish Yellow Cocktail 1 (RYC1/0252)
The SP model is what you have and it was referred to in the Yamaha literature as the "50th Anniversary" model. The LE was called the "Limited Edition" but came with the 50th Anniversary body kit. There were only 500 of the LEs produced for sale in the US only and Yamaha dealers had to have the units presold before Yamaha would ship the units. I bought one of the SP models here in Indianapolis but later found an LE model at a dealer in eastern KY and purchased it in the spring of '07, trading my SP in on my '07 Ducati 1098S Tricolore.
