Brake Fluid Really Dark

My break fluid in the reserve cup is on the dark side. I have an 06 R1 and I think its getting cooked from the heat of the exhaust. Do you guys think I should change it out or should I not worry about it? P.S - The heat shield on the right side to cover some of the heat from the exhaust was removed when I installed my first aftermarket exhaust pipes (1 year ago). Please help.

This heat from the sun and possibly your exhaust causes this, I would recommend changing it, mine does it all the time too, it's a quick fix!

If it's gone dark it needs changing. According to most manufacturers you should change the fluid every 2 years but I always change it every year.
