Synthetic or not

Hi guys little help with my oil, I have a 06 R1 with 5200 miles I've been using yamaha lube becuase that's what the dealer keeps telling me to use but I'm a big fan of Mobil1 since I use it in all my cars .So should i start using it or not and what weight I'm in NJ where it's hot and humid in the summer and cold in the winter but probably will not be riding once it drops below 50. Thanks

Rotella T 5W-40. About $20 per gallon at Walmart. Been using it for years and it works great! Has a fairly large following amoung bikers. Before that, I was using Mobil 1 15W-50 and was very happy with it. I believe it disappeared and is now back by popular demand. If you do go with Mobil 1, make sure it does not say "energy conserving" on the label or you will have clutch problems. Mark 99 R1

Amo; GO with Mobil 1 10-40Synthetic, shifting is better than before with Yamalube, temperature is lower too, I can almost tell you that the perfomance is so much better and the clutch is more crispier, over all I havae no regrets, my had only 4.700 miles on it. Is Mobil 1 for me from here ON.

Is Mobil 1 for me from here ON. Did you try yamalube synthetic before you switched to mobil 1 synthetic? Or did you just use regular yamalube?

Any quality brand synthetic is a good choice...changing the oil and the filter regularly is the key.

Any quality brand synthetic is a good choice...changing the oil and the filter regularly is the key. :iamwithst I ran Royal Purple in my 07 R1 and loved it. :thumbup

and the clutch is more crispier, Better flavor too?
