Could someone describe the gasket/washer for the oil drain bolt. According to the service manual for the O4 R1 it says it is a gasket making me think it might be rubber or something other than a metal washer. The owners manual for my 04 R1 describes it as a washer though.
The reason I ask is because I can't find mine. I just changed the oil, but don't remember seeing it when I removed the oil drain bolt. That doesn't mean it wasn't there... I thought it might have fallen into the container I was draining the oil into, but I didn't feel it in there. I assume I can get a replacement from a dealership?

Its called a crush washer and its a silver colored metal washer.
Sal_R1 is right on the money.
THis is a thin 2 stage crush washer that flattens out when you torque down the drain plug against the pan.
Check your drain plug bolt again. It might still beon there. If you see a seam where the threads meet the head, that's probably it.
If not, any dealer will have this part for you. They recommend getting a new one every time you do a oil change.
REMEMBER: When installing the new washer, the raised lip face up towards the pan, not down towards the ground.
Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your guys help. I went ahead and got another one from a local dealer here. After seeing what the new one looks like I realized I had made the mistake you were talking about. Indeed, it was right up against the bolt head.
Thanks again for the assistance.
