This thread is being started to allow the CO/XOs of the squadrons to interact with each other, and collaborate concerns for the Forum Staff. We encourage the CO/XO to "compare notes" and have open discussion among each others. This can be especially helpful for bordering squadrons.
The CO/XOs are also encouraged to share with their peers any significant experiences they are having with their respective squadron.
If you are not the CO, XO, or an R1-Forum Staff member, please do not post in here. If you do, it will be removed and your CO will be notified.
CO/XO: If you have a concern that you are not comfortable posting in the open, but all means, please PM the Squadrons Forum Moderators: Yamahog, DanQ, and Peg Grinder.

W8nonu 10-19-2008, 12:14 PM Hey Dan Venom is R1-016. I am still out of town until tomorrow. I will post up Venom Officer's responsibilities in here once I get back. If any other Squadrons would like to use it as a template feel free.
W8nonu 10-20-2008, 09:34 AM The 21 year old member rule. We are going to stick to it as of now(in Venom)...but Raven(XO) and myself will view the youngins' on a case by case basis along with that persons area officer. Basically I hear alot of talk about mentoring and all of that stuff but I want someone to be accountable for that process instead of letting it dangle in the wind. So if someone steps up to the plate and is accountable for the person we shoud not have any problems.

Hopefully we get the thoughts of all the squadron CO's and some of the Forum Staff that have been around. I will hold my personal opinion for now, but the rule as it stands is over 21. When we can collect our thoughts and opinions we can present one opinion to SpidermanSS.
Other CO's: Please discuss here.

I believe it's EST, because w8 posted the poll. It can be extended if a legit reason comes up, but otherwise we should have a CO for Dragon today.

Fikays 10-24-2008, 02:00 PM Hey guys...was anyone else on the Forum doing stickers too? I am not getting a response from the individual I asked.
bunnyrbt 10-24-2008, 03:03 PM Trying to get ours finalized and then find a source to get them made.
Hey CO/XO's:
Recently I've learned how to use Yahoo Messenger for conferences. It might be something good for you to use when "meeting" with your squadron folks, or even each other.
I will ask that if you try to do that you keep some form of minutes or something to transcribe here. If we have to bring something up to Shane, I want the history of the discussion to be available here. The entire staff read more than they post. You would be surprised to find out how much everyone keeps track of what goes on.
Just a thought. I know several of you probably use Yahoo IM regularly, so it may be something easy to do.

Great idea, Dan. As always. :thumbup
bunnyrbt 10-27-2008, 08:08 PM This is going to become a concern fairly quickly with Dragon squadron for squadron events. A lot of riders in California ride on permits for a very long time and I know there is at least one member of the squadron that is not licensed. There's also the matter of legit insurance and registrations.
How are you guys going to address that in your squadrons?
I'm not sure how we can handle this. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how we can handle this. Any ideas? If you are a street rider, you need to have the proper paperwork PERIOD in Venom. You need to read our meeting thread, we covered a few things that you may want to carry over to your Squadron id you see fit.
bunnyrbt 10-27-2008, 08:32 PM But how are you handling it?
I don't know that I'm terribly comfortable asking to see everyone's info at the beginning of every event.
Plus how to deal with the members that are already signed up that don't have a license?
W8nonu 10-27-2008, 08:37 PM But how are you handling it?
I don't know that I'm terribly comfortable asking to see everyone's info at the beginning of every event.
Plus how to deal with the members that are already signed up that don't have a license? You are the CO so you have to act like the CO and sometimes that is going against the grain. It comes with the position. Remember your Squadron represents the R1-Forum, it's not a separate entity. You are having an official event/ride..and some one gets popped without the proper paperwork or worst?? How does that look on us the R1-Forum as one of the premiere motorcycle communities?
W8nonu 10-27-2008, 08:38 PM But how are you handling it?
I don't know that I'm terribly comfortable asking to see everyone's info at the beginning of every event.

Deena read the content of our meeting it addresses all of that.
bunnyrbt 10-27-2008, 08:40 PM I understand what you're saying w8. Trust me I do. But I already have a member that is unlicensed. What do I do about that? :dunno
W8nonu 10-27-2008, 08:42 PM I understand what you're saying w8. Trust me I do. But I already have a member that is unlicensed. What do I do about that? Toss him out? Give him a deadline? :dunnoToss him until he gets it right..not the forum just your Squadron.
bunnyrbt 10-27-2008, 08:51 PM Of course not the forum.
bunnyrbt 10-27-2008, 08:55 PM Well looks like I'm going to have to talk to my other officers and deal with this situation.
W8nonu 10-27-2008, 08:57 PM you have to follow the laws of your state..if you have riders who are on Valid Permits so be it but for a rider to have nothing..well thats just not right
bunnyrbt 10-27-2008, 09:01 PM I'm talking about those that have permits vs. an actual motorcycle license.
Of course I won't allow someone who has nothing at all to participate and if they tell me one thing and I find out later they lied they will have their membership in the squadron revoked.
I'm talking about those that have permits vs. an actual motorcycle license.
Of course I won't allow someone who has nothing at all to participate and if they tell me one thing and I find out later they lied they will have their membership in the squadron revoked.
My question for you is what legal restriction does that permit place on them? There are conditions that they may have to observe.
For instance, back in the day when I had my permit in CT I could not ride at night and without a helmet on the highway. So... I was was in Lucky 13th and they wanted to have a ride at night on the highway with no helmet, I could not participate. If there were conditions that precluded me from participating in anything, then I could not be a member.
This isn't going to have a black and white answer in all cases, as we've seen with the discussions on the age deal.
Does this help at all?
bunnyrbt 10-28-2008, 08:37 PM Yes it does. So did talking to w8. The one member I know is permitted has been given 90 days to get his license and is not to go to squadron events with a passenger, at nite or that require freeway travel which are the permit restrictions until he is endorsed. I gave him that long only because he wants to take an msf course which could take a month or two to get into.
That's what we've decided we will require all current members to do that are not licensed. If they fib to us and we find out later about it we will take measures then on suspending their membership in the squadron.
Sounds fair to me. :thumbup
bunnyrbt 10-28-2008, 09:02 PM Cool
Peg Grinder 10-29-2008, 11:18 PM Hey bun...
If you don't feel entirely comfortable with enforcing the rules, perhaps you could designate an official "Squadron Master at Arms" to do it. Don't think the rules preclude that do they Dan?
Pick someone who's active, would be willing to do it and maybe has a talent for being...er...shall we say....has the ability to be abrasive...
Perhaps SalR1...
Just sayin'.
bunnyrbt 10-29-2008, 11:23 PM :lol
No we've figured out how to handle it. It has to be done uncomfortable or not.
Peg Grinder 10-29-2008, 11:26 PM Good deal :fact
bunnyrbt 10-29-2008, 11:27 PM Yup. Thanks.

No sir, I don't see anything defining a specific squadron staff. Heck back in 2002 R1-011 not only had a JAG Officer, but a mascot named as well.
Master at Arms might be a good one.
raven_hammer 10-30-2008, 04:47 AM you have to follow the laws of your state..if you have riders who are on Valid Permits so be it but for a rider to have nothing..well thats just not right
Plus there is the liability aspect of it. If I plan a ride and and non licenced members attend the ride where they get in an accident they could come back on me for allowing them to ride. I know in Florida i can be sued over it. No licence, no ride
Good morning
*sips coffee*
MA law on a permit is not after sunset and not before sunrise
and crossing state lines is a no no.
NH as far as i know does not recognize a MA bike permit.
I think at some point an MSF course should be required.
If it needs to be done as a squadron event i would be happy to go again.
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 10:45 AM The laws here in California doesn't hold anyone else responsible for a permitted rider. If a permitted rider gets in trouble by riding out of their "class" they are held fully responsible for any violations.
We are going to give any permitted rider that is a member right now 90 days to get their license. We will be encouraging them to attend an msf course. If we find that they have lied to us on their license status their membership will be suspended and we will be discussing a time period for that suspension. If they are unable to get their license in the 90 days they will be suspended until they get it. If they are holding a permit they are not allowed to attend events at nite, with passengers or any event that requires freeway driving.
I like the idea of a master at arms and if I can find someone to fill that position I will certainly see if I can get them to volunteer.

Devil1 10-30-2008, 04:17 PM I feel the same way as you all. If you are illegal, you aren't riding with our group.
Let's even say you're on a group ride and from the beginning you stated "No Stunting" or riding like an "Idiot". Yet the member does so. Do you boot them right there, or give a warning? I myself would boot on the spot.
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 04:33 PM So would I.

I read that we are supposed to be responsible on all group rides..so i understand the boot or suspension..but what if we are on a group ride and its just us out there no other vehicles on an out of the way hwy..and a few just decide to let one rip or pull i nice wheelie..I am asking cuz I am sure it may happen..thoughts?
NO HIGHWAYS!
first and foremost any wheelies on the highway is inapproprite.
maybe a straight road no houses, possibly wooded or better yet fields on both sides, in the front of the pack or trail off far enough back to not be a danger to the group
OK
I am not for showing off at all.
if thats the case we find a local parking lot and go to town.
I am down for wheelies dont get me wrong, but i have NEVER done them in a group larger than 3, including myself, and only on the emptiest roads i know.

I am down for wheelies dont get me wrong, but i have NEVER done them in a group larger than 3, including myself, and only on the emptiest roads i know.I am down here in Georgia so your definition of roads with no houses or fields is what we call highways...lol freeways and interstates or what you all probably call highways..lol..after much thought. I am with Brandon if it's a group ride none of that needs to take place at all.
Devil1 10-30-2008, 04:56 PM Seems like we would be creating a double standard if allowing them sometimes. I just so no period.
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 04:58 PM Stunting has it's place but I agree that it doesn't belong in a group ride or freeways. If a group of members want to stunt then an special event of some sort should be set up.
yeah around here its either very populated or hilly.
there really is no flat spots with nothing on it. at least here in northern MA southern NH
hell unless you are in upstate NY, VT, even parts of ME, then chances are there is at least 1 house on the road.
If stunting is what you want to do i would be 100% for setting up a stunt night at a parking lot locally for all the members, and having a set of guidelines to follow to show that it can be done safely and off of public roads.
Wow... great discussions. Anyone want to discuss age yet? :lol
Bunny: How'd the meeting go? I had to go to a meeting of my own, and then grocery shopping. I was looking for your thread and saw this bumped so I took a look at this first.
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 05:38 PM We had to adjourn until later. The X/O had to go somewhere for a little bit. Nossliw was able to stop in and give his opinions a little while ago. It was going really well. We just have a couple of other things to talk about tonite.
Sounds good. I was just getting caught up. Whole different tone of things today. Good to see.
I must have missed your XO. Could you post or PM me the XO screen name so I can put it in the first post and not end up deleting his posts and otherwise being very impolite to him :sing:
Same for Ghostrider. I think I saw it above Notascool's avatar, but can you confirm Fikays?
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 05:50 PM :lol
Punisher28, Ray, is the X/0 for Dragon squadron
The tone is a lot different today.
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 05:52 PM On the age issue. I like the 21 yo rule but would like to take under 21 members on a case by case basis. Some people are more mature even at a young age. I think the under 21 crowd will be fairly small.
Got him. Please let him know to stop in here and converse with the other COs and XOs.
Ah... a 21 proponent. Very interesting.
bunnyrbt 10-30-2008, 06:24 PM I make sure and remind him as soon as he logs back on.
So if we're on a group ride at the Gap next year and Shane pulls the front up for kicks, who's gonna tell him to to beat feet?
And while picwhoring on one of the most dangerous roads in America while shooting sparks, etc.... who's gonna bust that up?
I'm not speaking against/for any of that stuff, just putting the example out there of how the best laid plans (rules, in this case) can fall apart.
This stuff has to be decided on a case-by-case basis that takes into account the rider, ability, situation, setting, etc.... Good luck figuring out how to do it.
Devil1 10-30-2008, 06:30 PM Age only concerns me if we have a GTG where there is alcohol. If we are just riding and what not, 18 is fine with me. Unless you're and idiot.
I like to use the "Unless you're an idiot" clause a lot :lol

Good point, Kirk. I think the rule of thumb should be consistency, for normal Squadron functions. If I am on a ride with fellow Squadron members, then I expect them to ride in a manner that 1. follows the law; and 2. ride in a manner that will not draw any unwanted attention. Both issues to be gauged with common sense, of course.
You bring up the Convention - I think if Squadron members are at a Forum function like the convention, then I would leave the antics policing to the Forum elders and Forum rules.
I think people forget that if you are a member of any group or club or Forum and you wear/have their colors/stickers then you represent the interests of that club or group. If a rider is not prepared to always represent the best interest of his or her club, group or Forum, then they have no business identifying themselves as being a part of that club, group or Forum in public.
bunnyrbt 10-31-2008, 11:26 AM Very well said Frank.
W8nonu 10-31-2008, 11:30 AM Let's get some resolution on the age thing. I want to stick to 21

I say it is up to the local Chain of Command. If I have a guy under 21 that is responsible when he rides and does not drink alcohol at Squadron events, he is more than welcome.
A caveat to this - I think we can have a "pledge/mentor" program as do normal or traditional motorcycle clubs. Said under 21 y/o can become a probationary member and have to meet specific guidlines to become a full member. Such as:
1. obviously becoming 21 y/o
2. attending an MSF course
3. not attending events that may involve alcohol
4. etc
Any thoughts, COs, XOs?
If under 21 must have a license!
even go as far as to say must complete an MSF course.
basic or experienced.
bunnyrbt 10-31-2008, 12:06 PM In california the msf is required for riders under 21. I'm going to have to look up the permit restrictions in the other states in our region.
W8nonu 10-31-2008, 12:11 PM Thanks, Deena!

And off the top of your head who in your squadron has the time to be a mentor to a young rider.. I mean really committed to that person.
Fikays 10-31-2008, 12:18 PM And off the top of your head who in your squadron has the time to be a mentor to a young rider.. I mean really committed to that person.
I think you can pair up regional people and go from there. I don't mean like say, every person under the age of 21 y/o will automatically become a pledge. It should be applied on a case by case basis.
So say, if I have a young rider who has the proper endorsements and who is a responsible rider and say, lives in Austin, and there is someone of an older more mature nature in Austin as well willing to be his "mentor", then it can work. So if said pledge does something stupid/illegal, it ultimately falls on the "mentor" and the plesdge is out.
I am not saying this is an absolute system...again, I defer to a case by case, regional Chain of Command approval.
Fikays 10-31-2008, 12:24 PM Another caveat on what I just said - I just don't think we should have any absolutes for Squadron memberships unless it is demanded by law. "Banning" someone strictly by age and not by the person just seems......well......unfair. I mean, what's next? We gonna say no women members unless they are riding on the back of bike? Or no Asians? :lol
punisher28 10-31-2008, 09:35 PM Hey guys I am coming in to introduce myself as the X/O of the dragon squadron. My name is Ray.
Hey Ray. Good to have you in here :thumbup
punisher28 10-31-2008, 09:48 PM Hey Ray. Good to have you in here :thumbup
Thx
Peg Grinder 11-03-2008, 06:18 AM Gonna' have to agree with Filkays. There shouldn't be any absolutes...especially when it comes to age.
There is a great opportunity to indoctrinate younger riders into the riding community the right way and perhaps keep just one from becoming a wet stain on the asphalt. I've mentored riders as young as 16 and once the ground rules were laid down have rarely had a problem.
I do agree that they must have a license or a permit and actively working toward a license.
NO underage drinking period.
MUST wear appropriate gear, minimum - helmet, jacket, gloves, boots.
W8nonu 11-03-2008, 07:10 AM So you all support a 17, 18 year old on an R1?
So you all support a 17, 18 year old on an R1?
Depends. What's she look like?
yamahog 11-03-2008, 07:17 AM And off the top of your head who in your squadron has the time to be a mentor to a young rider.. I mean really committed to that person.
Let me add some insight on the subject. I have 2 boys, ages 19 and 18. In December it will be 2 years that they have been riding the street, licensed of course. I guess you could call me their "mentor" because they rarely if ever ride without me, their mother, or their uncle who are each members around here. From a "local crew" standpoint, I am willing to bet that there is no member of the Miami crew, either currently or formerly riding (alot them have got wifed and new babied up :lol ), who would not ride with either of them. As a local albeit unorganized crew, we have had several members from the forum who were under 21 and have ridden with us through the years. If anything just riding with a group of responsible riders helps promote a positive way of riding.
Ultimately the forum in my opinion is a home for folks sharing a common interest. The goal is too attract more like minded people. The squadrons, again in my opinion, are here to enhance that goal on a more local level. If you put too many rules and restrictions in place, you can inadvertently take away from the goal without even realizing it.
If someone is a properly licensed rider, I don't think there should be an age restriction in place. Again this is just my opinion and hopefully I have shown you another point of view.
Fikays 11-03-2008, 07:21 AM So you all support a 17, 18 year old on an R1?
I can't say I would; I've never seen a rider that young on a 1000. I'm not syaing it should be automatic "join"...as I said, it should be on a case by case basis. In this example, I would probably rule out a membership unless the kid is some track hero or something. :thumbup
yamahog 11-03-2008, 07:22 AM So you all support a 17, 18 year old on an R1?
Either one of my boys, could ride better than a lot of older riders just last year when they were 17 and 18. Again they be the exception .... but as long as someone is properly licensed, I don't think it is our place to support or not support it...
Seriously, though, it's a judgment call. There's a LOT of young riders out there at the moment.......about 35% of the students when I went to Superbike School were around 18. If they've got the skills, and the mindset, then age won't matter. This should hold true for the older crowd as well, last thing you need is a 35-yr old RalphS in the group.
Hell, what if Josh Herrin wanted to join?

Pu$$y. :lol
And it's working, w8. Excellent dialogue going on here.
I think Fikays summed it up with nothing in concrete, but we need discussion on topics like this to see what considerations should be made.
KMAC made an excellent point. There are young folks finishing up racing schools after having a background in GP 125 or something like that. They know more than most of us.
And Yamahog points at another slant on it. You KNOW growing up in his household his kids have had solid mentoring etc.
I don't think there is a solid number we can tie this to. If we are talking strictly R1's or other open class bikes, I would hope there is some experience to back it. If it's an 18 year old and the R1 is their first bike, we probably want to provide some guidance before allowing membership and full participation. :dunno

Fikays 11-10-2008, 08:45 AM Busy too!
Paytheon 11-10-2008, 08:49 AM Am I late for the meeting?
OK... so far we've hit bike shows, Toys for Tots runs, rides, several get togethers and a return to Deals Gap. All of these things have been covered on the Forum with plenty of pics and conversation.
I thank you all for your help in this. The fellowship of motorcycling is being felt within all your regions. The winter time will be the time for less riding and more planning for most of us. But, great job with what you have all done and continue to do within your regions! I'm always amazed what happens when motorcyclists get together and decide to make something happen. :fact
Recently in conversation with another member of the R1-Forum Staff I got a comment that "the squadrons area is hitting it off big time." I thank you all for your enthusiasm and efforts. Keep it up.
Please continue to do the things you are doing, and if you need help or advice, please let us know and we'll all do what we can to help.
Now we just need to fill in the gaps in the US and see what we can do to offer help to the others.
W8nonu 11-23-2008, 10:10 PM Good things are going on!!

What happened? PM if need be.
You are in a tough region for winter time activity. Dragon, Venom and Ghostrider still have (although quickly going away) weather that supports it.
Winter time is going to be about modding/prepping bikes and a meeting someplace once in a blue moon (might I suggest Hooters? I've heard they are great :sing: ).
Also, Dragon had a good idea rolling with maintenance and storage tips. Maybe you guys can switch to snowmobiles and skiing up there :dunno

Hello folks,
The Forum has a Decal Vendor now. Please view http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250086 and contact Sal_R1 for your decal concerns. It would be best to link and converse in the linked thread so that Sal_R1 does not need to check each squadron area for decal concerns.

It's been quiet in most squadrons lately, and I'm sure no one is pumping anyone up too much right now with the holidays. I'm sure after the holidays life will come back to everything.
How are things with you? Hadn't seen you about in a while.

Lady and Gentlemen, please welcome on Meister481 as the new Commanding Officer of the Attack Pack, Squadron R1-012. They are WAY up north, and probably not riding right now, but can probably benefit from the meeting ideas you have.
Congratulations again, Jason.

Meister37 01-10-2009, 08:46 PM Hey now, I rode between ice storms. Thanks for the Welcome guys/gal. I'm going through a great deal of info concerning the squadrons. I posted up in general discussion concerning our new leadership and to try to get some exposure while most in my area can only ride when they're day dreaming. I would think that now would be the best time to keep the membership interested by planning events and such. It's a pretty neat thing you've started here. Hope you all can make it for the MOTO GP, hopefully it's hurricane free this year.
Good to see you made your way in. Any questions so far? You can PM me or one of your fellow COs.
Meister37 01-10-2009, 09:09 PM I suppose I will need to ask you to set up the squadron forum sticky's with our rules and such. It seems pretty cut and dry. Since others have done it before me I'm just going to steal their work, lol.
I suppose I will need to ask you to set up the squadron forum sticky's with our rules and such. It seems pretty cut and dry. Since others have done it before me I'm just going to steal their work, lol.
Certainly. You guide the topics and ideas in your squadron. If you need something stuck, PM me. In your case you may also ask Anubis, since he's a Super Mod in your squadron. But please don't overburden him as he has other areas. Given the opportunity and having the chance, I'm certain he'll do anything he can for you.
Hello CO's/XO's. I am seeing that you have activity picking up in all regions. I would like to ask that you place your squadron name in the subject of each new thread. If a thread is out that doesn't have your squadron name in it, no problem. Just PM me. But as your topics are being bumped to the top of the New Posts, it may be easier for all concerned if it is known what squadron it pertains to. It will also help your recruiting efforts.
Also, as the enthusiasm grows, so does the rivalries that always exist. So we have members from other squadrons visiting our respective areas and threads. As long as it is in fun it's cool. If it begins to get out of control within a thread, please (CO/XO) identify yourself and ask that member to knock it off. If they do not, please PM myself and Yamahog and Peg Grinder. If it's obvious the CO/XO tried to fix it we'll do what is necessary. But if you didn't, don't be surprised if we give you a hard time.
The squadrons that are moving about are doing extremely well, and everyone has activity and good content coming in. We all thank you for this as you are helping the motorcycle community. Let's not stop! Venom is near 100 active members, as well as Dragon coming close in number, and content. Lucky 13th is conversing well and Ghostrider has been very active. Even Phantom Squadron is moving closer to having events and activities and we have a member moving from one squadron into the Wolfpack AOR who is willing to help things move on a regional basis. Great job folks :rock
I am going to continue my efforts to match your enthusiasm through the US and outside areas. Hopefully your enthusiasm is contagious, and we have people meeting and doing things on a regional basis all over.
Fikays 01-23-2009, 11:36 PM Do you mean for any thread anywhere, Dan? And why you up so late "working"?! :)
Do you mean for any thread anywhere, Dan? And why you up so late "working"?! :)
Just within the squadron areas. What is starting to happen is you guys are posting things that sound interesting, and people are reading into it, only to find out that it's a regional thing and they are no where near. It will just make it a little easier for everyone, I think.
As far as being up late, I plea the 5th. :sing:
W8nonu 01-24-2009, 08:24 AM It's great to lead by example and have an open communication line with the officers and members in your respective squadrons. I suggest that if you haven't done so go back and post responsibilities and job descriptions of everyone including members. Where there is no vision there is no leadership. I had every officer email me a 3 month plan on what they planned to do in their position and that has led to the success that Venom is having right now because everyone has made their own personal commitment and has stuck to it. The Co/Xo can not do everything nor should they lead with an iron fist or "it's my way and nothing else" although some decisions have to be made..but once again those should be in accordance to what your established guidelines are. Do a Mission, Vision and Goals Statement, have a meeting post of the minutes from that meeting so that every member can read what is going on...and I promise things will happen smoothly. As far as the titles in the thread goes, that should be common sense. Venom events get posted in Venom Squadron area with Venom in the title. We operate in a way that if one slides by I or ANY member will send the guy a post/pm telling him to put it in a Venom area. I also tell them to put it in the Venom Open Discussion thread because it gets the most views. Last but not least, do not get to caught up in titles, if you are not around delegate your responsibilities to someone else. I have had to leave the XO in charge and when he wasn't around I have had to leave a State Lead in Charge and when all of us weren't around I have had to leave a Area Rep in charge. And when I am not around or logged on they make the decision for me without having to consult with me...Why is that? It is because we all know the Mission, Vision and Goals that were established before we got started in our initial meeting. So go back and get your internals in order and things will flow. Everyone in your squadron is responsible for making the squadron what it is and no one is bigger than the Squadron including the officers..we are just tasked with keeping things organized.
Folks,
I'm looking through the squadron areas, and I'm impressed by the content of conversation, and the amount of recruiting that has true fellowship intent. good job by all! :thumbup
I'd like to know if all the COs/XOs would like to meet via Yahoo IM or something similar to discuss early spring plans, squadron rules, etc. It would be great for both CO/XO to attend, but only one would be needed.
This is nothing major. Looking across the squadrons I see a few things that maybe we can do better, rather than learn one squadron at a time. And I am sure by now several of you may have the same.
If we decide to do this, I am the odd man out (not a CO/XO) so I will act as recorder, and we can transcribe minutes here. But, if I do act as recorder, please do realize my mission within the squadrons and realize I will likely have agenda items.
If we press forward with this, all agenda items will be due to the participants no less than 48 hours prior to the meeting. This will allow time to gather thoughts before the meeting.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
bunnyrbt 02-21-2009, 12:09 AM I think it sounds like a great idea. Just let Ray and I know when you want to do it.

Lot's of math in diving. It's one of my favorite parts. Dive planning is the bomb :fact
So... How about Thursday the 5th at about 7PM EST? Does that not work for anyone? Just want to compare notes on a few things so it should not take long.

Hey folks,
I'd like to have the chat conference this Saturday, 28 Mar at 7 PM EST. I need to know if the time is good, and I also need to know if a representative from each can attend:
Phantom
Lucky 13th
Dragon
Ghostrider
VenomPost here for the answers to the above, then have that person PM me the Yahoo IM information. I will host the Yahoo conference, and I hope it will only take about 10 minutes unless we start talking about topics that move.
I will record and provide minutes from discussion to each CO.
BeaverPuncher 03-24-2009, 09:43 PM That'll work for me dan , I'm having a venom meeting sat anyways to get things moving to venom standards again.
Meister37 03-24-2009, 09:46 PM I'll be in FL all that week. Spring Break. Can we put it back a little? I'm sure I'm not the only one!
BTW: InkedR1Pilot AKA reaper is our new OX, can you give him rights to this forum as well please?
well i missed the last one so i can promise to be here for the next...
I say 8pm saturday night...
so I take its time for me to setup a yahoo account.

Tell me what works for you. I just need a rep. I prefer the CO, but your XO or other rep (Dragon has a Master at Arms, and I can work with that) will work as well.
I'm really sorry I missed your XO nomination. I'm still trying to catch up from the track weekend. I will congratulate him and update this thread. Sorry about that.
Love the induction thread by the way. Very out of the box. We will discuss that during the conference for sure.

Yes. It's simple to setup. You may miss this because I don't really think it's going to take long. But I got a text from Brandon and he'll be there.
I think

My wife is leaving for DC tomorrow and i lost track of time...

Wow... first order of business: Find something more stable than Yahoo IM for Conferences. The computer I was using rebooted at the end, and Beaver started having trouble shortly before.
Minutes will be forwarded to each CO.

SykoKenDogG 04-03-2009, 12:14 PM Hey guys, I've been so busy trying to get things together I almost forgot to check in here and introduce myself :lol
I'm Ken by the way, and I look forward to getting to know everyone and keeping this truck moving forward.
I hope everyone has some advice for me, as we're still in the beginning stages up here, I want to make sure we dont just fizzle off of the map.
BeaverPuncher 04-03-2009, 12:19 PM Good job
Petrol_Spice 04-29-2009, 08:19 AM Hey Lads,
We, the R1-190 have been getting some more Australian interest again. We are organising a MotoGP run, BBQ's and the like.
I've remained the CO for the R1-190 and Nate (Fullhouse) has taken on the X/O duties for the SQN.
We've requested to the Forum gods to rebrand the R1-190 from Tyre Fryers Squadron to R1-190 Taipan Squadron, which is currently underway.
Drop in to the R1-190 and say hi.
Steve.

Meister37 04-29-2009, 03:18 PM Glad to see it! congrats!
Welcome DavidSFC. He is the newly elected Dragon Squadron CO.
Also, we need to arrange another CO/XO yahoo chat etc. I know it's been a while, and everyone is doing motorcycle stuff, but I'd like to talk to everyone again.
BeaverPuncher 06-23-2009, 09:20 PM Anytime dan
Devil1 07-23-2009, 01:35 PM So who is our decal vendor now? Is that up to us?
So who is our decal vendor now? Is that up to us?

I think a couple of squadrons have. Heck... it's probably overdue for us to have a Yahoo IM session again and get caught up. Does anyone have a good time (or bad) that we can do this? I'd like to get a chat going for the sake of all the new folks and catch up on the recent events.
I'll follow up with PM to the CO/XO of each squadron tomorrow.

Oklahoma is Ghostrider.
Marcelo07R1 10-26-2009, 03:52 PM We got a member who currently talked to someone who can make them for us. He can get us our sticekrs and that the more you buy the cheaper it is. So I asked him to check the price for 50 stickers and I told him to ask if the guy wants to become a vendor :dunno
