NEWWWWW!! Grom wants to ride GMR so screw ortega lets do GMR :yesnod It's more fun and less traffic anyways :fact

Lex, can you wait at least 5mins between posts? I am juggling 2 email accounts, a PM box, and the phone, not to mention responding to your post in the O.T. thread. I ain't willing to ride with some girlie handed typewriter chick....I am a 600 lb gorrila hammering away on a laptop stealing internet from the house down the street in a $250 a month room behind SDSU cuz my good for nothing wife threw me out of the house...can a guy catch a mother fing break around here????:hammer::hammer:

Screw it- hellz yeah GMR it is...I can't wait to meet Grom! I think that guy has skillz :fact I want to follow a few of his lines if I can keep up!

My vote is for GMR. The breakfast idea mentioned above is good as well. Let get the players listed. This looks like it has the beginnings of a "Riders Ride"!!

Post up everyone and lets do this.

Lex, I am 100% for sure! If I have to I will sling a backpack then I'll pack a lunch of 2 liter MT. Dew bottles filled with 91 so that my baby don't go hungry. I can live off of smell of burning gas and melted rubber until it gets dark.

If I really get in a tight pinch I can always pause on the side of the road to lick the bugs off my Arai for protein in place of my next meal!! To be hardcore you have to live hardcore!! :rock:rock

New thread with the 5 W's posted is all I need.

I am in and up in it to win it. Let's ride! Grom if your lurking better crawl out from under that rock of yours.

I think it all depends on what organization you ride with. I know you have to disable the lights for sure.

As far as GMR, we'll see what happens, packing up more of the house takes "precedence", supposedly...

Rhino25

i thought you just had to tape up the lights, not completely disable them

You don't technically have to disable them... But the problem with not disabling them is that the bulb can potentially melt the tape onto the headlight housing :secret:

youve ridden behind me at ortega. i wasnt too bad was i?

Nope honestly not bad at all... Biggest things i could see is you need to get off the seat more but you didn't have full leathers then so thats understandable and bring your upper torso over a bit more as well... You were crossed up a little bit... Easiest way is try kissing your mirror thats what i tried doing to get my form down... Everytime i go out riding i work on ONE thing and hopefully by the end of my ride that ONE thing will be damn near perfected :fact

lexanidubs09
05-19-2009, 05:57 PM
If you want a comparison picture look at these 2 pictures...

About 2 months ago... Form is ok... I know the picture isn't the greatest but you can tell im crossed up...

As far as the chatterboxes, talk to punisher, me and the wifey each got one of the top model bluetooth ones for $280 a piece brand new, and they're normally $400 each. I think he said the same model without the bluetooth was $220 brand new. And they're definitely worth it riding alone IMO!!! I just hook my iPod into it without having to worry about earbuds falling out or making my ear sore, which is just a total PITA!

Rhino, as far as pucks, I've got a set that I don't need since Bunny gave me her old set. They're brand new and came with my 2-piece. Let me know if you want 'em and we can meet up sometime.

Well the chatterboxes themselves aren't bad, when you're holding the helmet it feels heavier, but when you where it you barely tell. I thought there would be more wind resistance on the one side but there isn't.

And are you sure you're talking about the xb-1 Bluetooth box or just the xb-1 box. Cuz the Bluetooth are $400 normally, and $170 seems outrageous for it. I would believe that for the non Bluetooth one though.

Rhino,

My personal take is I pefer to have the chatterbox in a tank bag or backpack. That said for my upcoming ride I will have it mounted on my helmet. After the ride I'll post my findings as to which works best for me.

I also have a spair set of A-stars GP sliders. The ones with the A-star logo outlined in red. I can't give them to you; but I'll let you steal them for a cool $20.00 more then half off the normal price not including CA's 10% sales tax. If your meeting up with Lex and me on Friday you could have them then. Let me know as I don't want to pack them if your not interested. It's a power to weight ratio issue...:crash

I know this is going to come off kind of lame...and make me out to be a perfect L7 but heck what do I care it works for me.

I have never done anything harder then the booze and beetlenut on Saipan.

I see drugs as only a limiting agent. Before I was in the Navy I never touched the stuff. Now that I am in the Navy 11 years to date I haven't touched the stuff. It's not a choice for me. In fact I guess I am lucky in the sense I don't know what I'm missing. Drug test come and go for me at work and I could careless.

Now that you all have me on my soap box. I view drinking and driving as even more dangerious. First off because access to the "drink" for most of us is legal...we are older then 21 and have money to spend.

My firm personal rule is "tip the bottle you musn't twist the throttle". This includes a single drink on date night or just one at the local watering hole after work on Friday before going home. Just will not happen for me. Booze effects everything you need at peak performance to operate a motorcycle. Reaction time, body motor skills, judgement, ballence, etc, who are we kidding when we think just one won't make that big a difference when in the blink of an eye you could get cut off or roll around a corner on a perfectly clear dry day to find someones sprinklers have soaked the road etc.

I wish I still had the pics of me riding with a case of beer on the tank. between my arms!! Why a case you ask...once I have one I can't go get anymore and I needed to have enough on hand to ge the job done!!:drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

Rhino25, up tight? Who? Me? Naw, each person makes decisions on what is best for them and their lifestyle. The only time I might get up tight is if we went riding together and you were high or drunk. I don't get the impression that is what you or anybody else on here does. More like they ride and then get drunk etc. At that point your choice only effects you. That works for me. 'nuff said.

Navy cheif is a act as well Dan. Not sure if he is Navy.

It may seem like an act, but it's dictated by the service secretary and the senior service member, as an enlisted rank. The officer ranks are plenary positions which require legislative approval per title 10 of the US Code. That's why it's a felony offense if you violate article 89, but a lessor offense if you violate article 91, insubordinate conduct. I used to have a great time with senior staff NCO's that that I was disrespectful to them. An officer's authority is founded in law, therefore it is a lawful order or direction. But if the order issued comes from an enlisted person, it is insubordinate conduct.

Hey swimmer...how long have you been in? I picked up Sgt, August of 08, after 9 months as a PFC, 2 years as a LCpl, 2 1/2 as a Cpl. and I'm not looking at SSgt for at least 2-3 years, at least. So I got my first fitrep, well above my RS average, and my RO did a bad ass write up, but graded me as slightly above average, on the Christmas tree. So I'm not sure, everyone says it's good, and I got better fitreps than all but one Sgt in my division, keep in mind they're senior to me by up to 5 years...so that's good. Plus my RO put in his write up, that I can fill the duties of a SNCO and should been promoted when eligible.

P.S. I've been in going on 6 years now

They did white and blue, in 1991. One of their best color combination's I think. :sing:

Good grief you take 9 wide! Maybe that's what I need to try. I cut 9 close to get the entrance for 10, but I throw out an anchor to do it. Then rip through 10 - 12.

I'm waiting on new fairings to come in right now. I got silver and red fortuna race replica's. They don't match my frame/tank but I had to have fairings ASAP. I ordered them and my card got canceled right after. Somebody tried to buy plane tickets with it lol. Luckily I am getting that all sorted out and that order went through. I am going to post up a whole thread on them when they come in. I don't think the paint job will look great with my frame and black tank but I needed fairings to mount my headlights to so I could be street legal for my work commute.

bunnyrbt
05-23-2009, 08:58 PM

That was not my race line in that pic. I clip 9 tight and hard forcing me to flick hard and fast to just castch 10 and go wide around the inside guys works great.

It's not a track bike :D

It's just a set of race replica fairings for a street bike. I would probably have the fairings repainted rather than powder coat the frame. I got these mainly because they were a good price and would be delivered in under a week. Maybe I'll go and do the harlequin Jetta theme on the bike that would be amusing! :P

madcat

The frame is currently black as is the tank. The bike was originally the black with red flames. I want to hang onto this bike for awhile so I will take my time with it. I grew up building and working on cars, but I never did any painting or body work. This bike is my baby and I intend to learn and pour a ton of myself into it.

streetjester
05-23-2009, 09:19 PM
That is the best way to learn bikes. Fiber work is not bad. Plastic is harder and comes down to good tools and solid hand. Paint is a art.

No. I had a spool broken off in a swingarm, and after the spool was broken off, there was a tap (or an easy out, I'm not sure which). It cost over $100 to have it removed. I could have eBay'd another swingarm for less.
