There is an opportunity to get a shiate load of free riding at Willow Streets for those that might be game. I have connection via a SD rider friend that offered to Dragons.

There is an organization that does a school at Streets. They need corner/flag workers. You can park bike at your station and ride every session that the students are in class. Every other 20 mins all day. Wear leathers and jump on track. You can also have the instructors lead you around the track at a sick pace to show you how done.

Most of these events are a 2 day deal. I'm looking for 2 guys not including my connect to join. We'll take RV and camp next to track with full hook ups.

There are a variety of dates coming up. Let me know who might do it and let's go ride the crap out of Streets:flex:

Lexi is coming, so let me see how many workers/riders needed.

IM DOWN AFTER OCT 23RD

I just now realized that sat is my bday...and I'll be up to my ears in engine parts working on my 4runner (FYI Lex, Rocketfish A/V cables will charge a 3Gs if you have any customers looking for a solution to video head units). It looks like I will be released on Friday. If we don't get out of here by noon and get out of camp by 1500 I will be staying in Vegas but I would rather just get home in 1 day.

How many of you have had someone you care about, say a Wife, girl/boyfriend, Mother, Father, siblings, or your own children perhaps, you want to shout or issue a warning to? Like just before they grab a hot pan off the stove bare handed, or walk into oncoming traffic unaware. Something serious.

There are times when I am riding that I can see something happening before the rider in front of me knows they are in danger. Or I have encountered something ahead of them and can send warning back. Sand in the road. Car entering the lane of travel without looking. Going too hot into a corner they don't know is coming up. Running head long into a speed trap I know well but can't tell them about unless...we have communications.

The Chatterbox takes the duct tape off your lips. Used correctly it is non-obtrusive.

It is a tool that while riding on the street lends itself to increasing the safety margin.

If you can afford one why not use it? That's all I'm saying. I have seen people learn their lessons the hardway. Take it from me. The Chatterbox is worth having.

Joe, I strongly suspect the reason you are finding yourself shocked to be agreeing with me is due, I feel, in large part to the fact that you have never met me in person. I could go search the board for several places where you have stated that in public the wisdom of my ways. Most resently in my memory the reason why I change out both front and rear tires every time.

The other reason you find yourself baffeled that you are in agreement is most likely do to the way I deliver my message. Not it's content.

To be frank and up front with you. On the internet you annoy the piss out of me. I chalk that up to the medium we are using...the typed/written word that doesn't lend the content to be shared with facial expressions, tone of voice or body language.

Add to all of this my direct, cutting and unremorseful way I direct my comments and it isn't any wonder I might not be your most favorite "internet personality".

I think if we met. Shared a ride or two together I'm willing to bet we'd be fast friends.

Ok, on a seperate note...can you find chapter and verse in the CVC where the Chatterbox isn't allowed to be connected to your helmet. First I have heard of this. Given the propencity of CHP and other LE agency's to pull sportbikes over for even the smallest infractions, it would seem like pulling someone over for having a Chatterbox mounted to their helmet would be the easiest way to do so seeing how it's pretty hard to hid the fact of one being mounted to the side of ones helmet. Thanks.

All the best.

Dammit Gil, you are such a killjoy with your philosophy and your stone serious "text" demeanor.

You should figure that I, above most, understand the importance of communication. I did just spend a week in the Communication Unit on a fire as a Radio Operator and Comm Tech. On that note, today we are breaking down the remote repeaters sites (a little bit of wheelin since it rained a few days ago and those are some Nasty roads) then heading home finally. I'm over this place, I managed to get brochitis or something the first night and have been ****ing miserable.

My bikes been in the shop for almost 2 months, dealer finally has all the parts and all thats left is slapping it together. Theres been a few bad news delays but this saturday was a for sure time frame that i would get her back. Thats until the mechanic was rearended while stopped at a redlight yesterday. He was on his bike and rearended by a drunkdriver. He will recover fine but is in the hospitol. This adds more delays to my bike, but glad the guy will be ok and it wasnt worse. just wanted to share

That looks pretty damn good to me. I didn't know that it wasn't something you bought at a toystore or something. Not until you said your wife made it. I would dare say that she doesn't give herself enough credit if she thinks that she isn't that good.

you are right 100%, about not giving herself credit... this is why i told her i wanted to get your guy's opinion

battery has plenty of juice but the engine struggle to turn over initially. once it turns, it starts fairly easily but something in the engine is off balance and there is white smoke/steam coming from the exhaust. most of these point to head gasket but knowing my luck, its something more...

i am looking into Toyota's head gasket recall, im going to call in with mmy VIN# tonight (dont have it with me right now). if it hasnt been done, and falls within the VIN range, it will be my saving grace, except i have to tow the 4runner to a dealership ing the valley....

the 22r(e) engines are easy, the 3.0 v6's are a little harder to come by.

What year is it?

Struggle to turn over, does it turn and stop, or is it slow all the way around? if the head gasket is leaking it could let coolant fall in, let's say overnight maybe, so the first turn of the morning it'll stop because you can't compress a liquid (antifreeze), and then you see the steam out the back once it starts.

Now if it's jsut turning slow all the way around than it could just be the starter itself, or as I have seen a few times it could be the + wire as well...

hope this helps :thumbup

GrizFyrFyter

It's a 94

just the initial turnover is slow, it's definately an engine problem.

A little track day/marriage humor to lighten the mood...

Four friends spend weeks planning the perfect track day. Two days before the group is to leave, David's wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn't going. David's friends are very upset that he can't go, but what can they do? Two days later the three get to the track only to find David sitting there with the motor home set up, canopy up and a tasty breakfast cooking. "Man, how long have you been here and how did you talk your wife into letting you go?"
"Well, I've been here since yesterday. Yesterday evening I was sitting in my chair and my wife came up behind me and put her hands over my eyes and said 'guess who'? I pulled her hands off and she was wearing a brand new see-through nightie. She took my hand and led me to our bedroom. The room had two dozen candles and rose petals all over. She had handcuffs and ropes on the bed! She told me to tie and cuff her to the bed and I did. And then she said 'do whatever you want.' So here I am."

Baffles are nice but.. You will need block offs to get rid of the popping and makes for an accurate tune. So then, IMO you will need a PC as well so you dont run your bike lean, some say no but most say yes you do. Get the brake lines stopping is good! :fact

Not sure how bad the tire is, but the highway after Temecula is chill and the desert drop is sweepers and some tighties. I'm going for sales calls to hotels and a lunch (strip club check?). Spend a cpl hours in the desert and ride back up the mtn. Anyone else?

HOM has great deals and tell Chris? the parts manager or Bronson, David sent you as part of Dragon. They don't mark tires up much at all and hook us up....then Gilman has the install connect if you pull the wheels...which is easy.
