hi
ive just bought an r1 and after cleaning it the day after i noticed that the previous owner was running a 180 dunlop 207 rear (nearly new)and a 120/70 michellin pilot sport front (which is half worn) is this dangerous, ive always bought pairs on my previous bikes. and how will the 180 perform compared to a 190 rear.

Optimally you should run them matched.
180 is good, I have run them since 02 on mine (Street and Track).
190 provides a wider patch. Most people can't use all of that, but you can get away with running a 180. Cheaper in some instances.

Both the Dunlop 207 and Pilot Sport have been discontinued for years. I'd be very cautious of dry rotting. You may find them at some stores, but it's old stock which has been sitting for years. If it were me I'd opt for a set of fresh rubber front and back. Slap on a set of Michelin Pilot Powers for good mileage wear and they will hold up to some pretty aggressive riding too.
