R1 Seat Cowl (oem) Honest Review. Where to buy: www.tobefast.com "Mike McCoy" How Much: $139.99 (if you purchase from Yamaha you'll pay $149.99) Quality: A Yamaha Original Equipment Product at a McCoy Motorsports Discounted price. Being a Yamaha Product you know it's gotta be good ! Install: This goes without saying! Replace your rear seat. My Overall Opinion: Being that it's a Yamaha OEM product your damn near guaranteed that's its gonna be SUPER quality. (It is Yamaha) But the experience comes in ordering from McCoy Motorsports. The benefit is that you receive the product at a discounted price. Meaning, if you go to your dealer you will pay $149.99 plus tax (where I live it would have cost me $162.11 through my dealer) Well because I bought it from McCoy Motorsports I received this seat cowl for $149.74 shipped. So I saved $12.37. Now if you are a penny pincher like I am, every cent counts. If you are in the market for a R1 Solo Seat Cowl I suggest you purchase from McCoy Motorsports (Mike McCoy). They seem to have them in stock and I received mine 4 business days after I ordered and that was with a UPS "F$%K" up on shipping too. (That's a whole nother story) Overall, My McCoy Motorsports experience was a 10 out of 10 ! Thanks Mike! Check out all the goodies that McCoy Motorsports has to offer at: www.tobefast.com

TS02R1, Ya gotta love that! What Bar Ends are those? Where, how much? Are they ample weight to reduce the vibration in the hands? Bike looks great! I love the flushmounts. I'd like to have those but I'm really concerned as I commute to work daily (in the good weather season) and too many soccer moms don't see the bike, let alone the signals (already had my first '02 trashed by one bitty). Anyway, anxious to hear about the bar ends.

Yes, even the few short email's I had with Mike, I could tell that I found a place I will be doing much business with in the near future. Your cowl looks good man, but it looks like the color is a bit off from the pics? whats with that? I hope the blue is a perfect match.....

Ya, I've seen that in most of the silver pics. Not that way in real life. Gotta think it's the angles and mettalic, etc., all that giving an optical flaw. If you look just at the top, it seems fine. When you look at the side, where it blends to the tail, light reacts differently

Todd: Or, you could know someone that works for Yamaha and get it for $85 shipped, :p .

Yeah, they probably paint it differently. Its ashame, because once you notice it, its an eyesore. Paint it differently = air stroke it in different direction:yesnod :lol

The color is a PERFECT match (IMO) but I also think the angles make the color appear to be slightly different. The Bar Ends? My best friend CNC machined them for me. I was looking into having a bunch done but I would of had to purchase enough material to have 28 sets made. (that was the least amount of aluminum he could have ordered) At the price I was considering selling them at I would have had to sold 18 sets to break even. I didn't think I would find that many people who would want them so I ditched the plan. If you can find a CNC Machinist to do them it would be worth it. I have riden a few times with them to feel an INCREDIBLE difference in the vibration. I had them made 2 inches long. Basically, I took calipers and measured out the original "stock" bar end and then increased the length to 2". I guess it's fairly easy to program the Machine to make. I also had a Custom Groove put in the Bar End on the left because I have a Bar End mirror that is made to fit a 7/8 inch bar. The Aluminum that was used is a very light aircraft aluminum. ( I want to say it's like 7125 aluminum or something?? But I'm not positive) I thought the lighter Aluminum wouldn't help the vibration problem all that well HOWEVER it worked out EXTREMELY well. After I thought about it I decided it helped out better because of the length and the lightness allows the vibrations normally felt in the palms to be sent to the lighter bar ends. Meaning, the Bar Ends themselves vibrate A LOT and I think they vibrate so much because of the lightness. And because they are vibrating so much it takes it away from the palms. (Hopefully I didn't just confuse you) .**EDIT**... In case I confused anyone.. the grips hardly vibrate anymore.. the vibration is now in the BAR ENDS themselves !!! Anyhow, although I am not producing them I hope I have given you some information on how you can have them made. Here's a picture with a plain bar end and one that I polished up. I had 2 sets made

Actually those are Gregg's Custom LED flush mounts. They are 6 chipped LED's and are really bright.
