1. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER FOR 60 DAYS BEFORE YOU SELL OR TRADE ANYTHING ON THE R1-FORUM.
No, we are not being harsh, or controlling. This is an attempt to eliminate the spammers, the "bots", and last but not least thieves out there in the cyber world. It protects everyone invovled. These rules are non-negotiable and are set by the Administration. They are strictly enforced on the R1-forum by the Marketplace Moderators.
EXCEPTION:
Legit join dates from the R6-Forum are accepted. Understand that most of the R1-forum moderators do not visit the r6-forum very often. So if you are a member of the R6-forum then make it known in your for sale thread by posting up your join date and your username on the R6-forum.
2. POSTING ETIQUETTE IN THE MARKETPLACE SECTION.
There is a huge tendency to post negative replies when someone lists an item for sale that others consider "overpriced". Negative comments will not be tolerated and will be removed at the discretion of the Marketplace Moderators. To put it simply - If you dont have anything good to say, keep it to yourself. Members who make negative replies will be warned and possibly banned for continued abuse.
3. VENDORS (OR PEOPLE SELLING QUANTITES OF THE SAME ITEM) MUST FIRST CONTACT FORUM ADMINISTRATION.
Please contact the Forum Administration (SpidermanSS or VPReatr) to get information on becoming a Forum Sponsor before posting items for sale. Buying for the sole purpose of re-selling qualifies as being a vendor and requires sponsorship with the R1-forum.
4. NO EBAY, CRAIGSLIST OR OUTSIDE LINKING OF FOR SALE ITEMS.
If you have stuff in auction on eBay, then sell it on eBay. We will not allow eBay items to be advertised here. Making our members compete with the world to buy something for a higher price is just WRONG. List your for sale items here, if they don't sell, then take them to eBay.
5. THERE WILL BE NO "AUCTION STYLE" SELLING HERE.
If you post an item for sale and it says anything like "I will take the highest offer" it will be removed. If you want to run an auction, take it to eBay.
6. ADDING DETAILS TO YOUR FOR SALE THREADS.
Please take your time and add as much detail as possible. Describe your item in the title, the more details the better. Post an asking price, easy to find, not just lost in the paragraph of description. Each item shoud have it's own asking price, then you can negociate from there. No more make me an offer threads, these will be removed. The more details you can give the better chance you will have of selling... i.e. color, size, year, make, model, mileage, damage, etc., etc. If you really want to sell your items... please post up the most current pictures possible! Your potential buyers will not want to buy your items if they can not see them. Please make sure to take pictures from every possible angle. There is no such thing as too many pictures! Again, your potential buyers want to see what you are selling.
7. OMISSION OF INFORMATION IS ALSO KNOWN AS FRAUD.
For example: If you are selling a leather suit that has a 9 inch tear in it you need to disclose that information to the buyer. Do not tell the buyer that the suit is in "good condition". If its determined that you defraud a member by failing to disclose crucial facts about your items, your access to this section will be restricted and you may be banned from the forum.
8. USE THE MARKETPLACE SECTION AT YOUR OWN RISK.
There are a lot of scams out there on the internet so take precautions in your business ventures. THE R1-FORUM WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSSES AS A RESULT OF USING THE MARKETPLACE SECTION. As a suggestion: Sellers should always use delivery tracking options (for example: USPS Delivery Confirmation) to avoid conflicts from buyers saying they never received their items. Buyers, get to know the seller before you blindly send out your hard earned money. If something doesnt seem right; it probably isn't. If something seems to good to be true; it probably is. If you have any suspicions, please contact one of the Marketplace Moderators before sending your money.
9. RESPECT FELLOW MEMBERS.
This section is a great place to make a few extra bucks and occasionally new friends. Please be respectful to your fellow members. Maybe try selling here to a member instead of eBay, maybe save them a buck or two. If you have any questions, problems or concerns feel free to contact any of the Marketplace moderators.
10. PLEASE GO BACK AND EDIT YOUR POSTS WHEN THE ITEM SELLS.
Please go back and edit your first post and mark the items that have sold. This will help eliminate old threads from coming back up, as well as help those looking for specific items.
Lastly, don't forget the Buyer/Seller Feedback forum. This forum can be found by clicking the link below. Be sure to express a good or bad experience with your buyer or seller, and let others know what to expect. Also be sure to check there for a member if you are concerned BEFORE you buy.
