Group Discount on Exhaust !!! Great Deal!

OK - just spoke to Rob from Devil Exhausts and here is the deal: the Carbon Hi Mount Slip-on costs 499.00 through Devil, and they are the only distributor in the country. They're one of the oldest (if not THE oldest) exhaust manufacturers and the slip-ons yield between 4 to 4.5 hp. The sound is very close to the Micron actually, low and throaty with a real mean sound. The pipes are guarenteed and the best part is they are NOT very common, since they do not sell to warehouses like starcycle and M.A.W. or kneedraggers and the like - to me that is attractive. Also - I'm sure Rob would hook up anyone looking for an exhaust, even for an older R1 or a completely different bike - remember, these guys DO NOT sell to wholesale places, so we're bringing them a ton of business and I'm sure they'd hook up a great price on any other exhaust - so call and ask! ditching those damned signals is already part of the plan - cleans up the rear a ton. I'll either do an LED array in the tail light OR do a flush mount on the fairing - either or....

Just wanted to clarify, the group price is NOT for the shotgun pipes - they do look cool, but they're a problem for HP since the extra routing and twists actually makes you LOSE power... The deal is for SP2 can - it's the top carbon can they make, it's a single can, hi-mount and the twists are actually a little less extreme then on the micron hi mount. The micron made a 3.8 HP difference, so considering the smoother curves on the devil, I think HP-wise it will be pretty close, not much more not much less - just wanted to clarify that this is NOT the shotgun setup though, which in the R6's case cause a drop in power.

So, maybe I'm not really understanding the above messages, but is it true that if we install this can we'd have to remove our stock turn signals? I'm not too crazy about the stock undertail, but I was kinda planning on holding off a little before ripping it off. If we do have to remove the stock signals, does anybody know whether the Competitionwerkes undertail will fit with the can?

blinkers: you will have to move them - you don't even have to remove them, you could actually just mount them down on the fender lower, however for me, that fender was history from day one, that tail is so nice, it's just begging to be cleaned up to begin with. When I finish the flush mount OR LED-in-the-tail install, I'll post pics - I got snypers pictures and they look mine - Great job by the way, and thanks for forwarding the email snyper! sound: I've spoken to a few people at this point, mostly from the LI group I ride with - alot of them rave about the sound - they say it's very close to micron only just a bit more tone and just a little louder than the micron - which to me is great because the microns are a little quiet and a nice low tone is just what I'm looking for anyway. As soon as I get mine I'll be posting a whole detail on everything, but for now I'm going on other people's experience who I ride with a trust.

www.devilbikes.com has some sound clips. They have the '00 R1 high rise slip-on. I think the '02 might sound a little different with the fuel injection. I already removed my stock turn signals and put some extreme short stalks on. I'll put some pics up, but it'll probably take a while.

The pipe sounds pretty good on the site, but have you actually heard one in person? I don't need the loudest pipe, but I DON'T want a queit pipe. Can you or anyone compare it to a Two Brothers, b/c I loved my old one? Hey yall, I just installed the mig carbon fiber high mount on my 1999 YZF R1, and it is sweet. I bought mine from second look designs. I'm not sure what the retail price was, but I bought mine at $416 with no shipping cost, and that was not at a group rate. If you call second look, ask for mark and let him know you saw this on the R1 forum and he may start cutting us a deal. BEWARE!!!!! Don't order shit from starcycle. went away for the weekend...some answers for some questions: so far 9 people are in plus me, so it looks good. I think the pipes should be in by early next week or so, according to Rob, so I'm sure there'll be a ton of posts. The pipes are defintely louder than micron, but just a few Db...enough to notice but not enough to wake the dead like with a D&D.. I actually got a call back from one of the guys I ride with on LI and he said they sound remarkable - "meaner and deeper than a micron" is the exact quote and I've never heard that! They're not common which to me is the best part. I'll be posting as soon as I get mine- in the meantime, there's no obligation no anything, I called, worked a deal for my home riders group and included all of you guys, because I believe that it is a very good deal on a pipe that sounds mint, looks awesome, adds power and IS NOT found on every other bike like most of the other exhausts.

Ok I just called Rob, and he told me its not $390. For the carbon fiber it is $449(no tax, free shipping), and for the ti its $470(no tax, free shipping). So beware he told me he couldnt do $390. Still a good deal though. Thanks for setting it up Scud

are you guys planning on sticking with just slip ons for your 2002s ... are those slip ons gonna work with devil full systems when they come out with them..and the power commander comes out... or are you just gonna ditch those slip ons once you decide you need the full akro systems¿?¿?¿? :p :p :p

yeah, Rob called me back- basically the slip on is 499 plus 45 for shipping so it's normall 545 total - instead of giving 10% off the regular price AND charging us for shipping, he's passing on the no-shipping deal plus the discount, so instead of 545 it's 450 total - you save 95 bucks, which is around 20%, I thought it was a pretty fair shake. to blove and the rest: when they come out with the header, yes you can use the slip-on with it. My belief is you're going to need the power comander to do so, since you're losing the EXUP, and YES, Rob will extend another break to anyone who bought with the group discount and decides to upgrade to the header later.

I emailed them direct about the sound. This is copied and pasted from my email : Our pipe is simular to the Two Bros sound and actually a bit louder under accelleration. The deep tone is like Micron. The sound on the R1's are a little quieter because of the Exup valve, but the fact the DEVIl opening on the rear of the can is pretty big turns into great sound.
