I have used Dunlop 207GP's, 207RR's and a 208 GP front. The Metzler MEZ Rennsports are just as good if not better than any of the above. I put a set on my 00 R1 before a track day and had not one problem with them whatsoever. I would have to say that they warm up somewhat quick and the front tire has better feedback than any of the tires listed above. I had a problem with the 207RR rear slidding in some corners on a twisty mountain road but not once with the Renn's. The sidewalls are thinner than any of the Dunlop's and for some reason the Renn's just felt better and a little more stable. I would have to say that the Renn's for the price are unbeatable for any tire in their price range!! I am very satisfied with them and I just so happen to get lower, with more confidence, than I ever have before (which caused me to wreck... my fault cause I dug my footpeg into the pavement which kicked me up and I ran into the side of an imbankment). They definately gave me the confidence that I never had before. I also have the Metzler M1 SportTech's on my wife's SuperHawk and I would have to say that the M1's are just as confidence inspiring as the Renn's but for a lot cheaper price tag. Metzler definately makes a top notch product!!! By the way just a little FYI Metzler and Pirelli are basically the same company. Kind of like Chevy and GMC are the same.

I really like the Rennsports but the mileage on them for street use is bad. I switched over to the Sportecs for both of my street bikes and so far so good. I got 2700 miles out of a rear which is a good jump over the 1500 mile average on the rennsports.

I use the Rennsports too, (street compound) & I think they are the best for the R1. It must have some thing to do with the 0° steel belt on the front that does wonders in terms of stability in the case of the R1.
Pirelli Supercorsa is basically the same tyre according to the technicians.
By the way, on WET roads its crap, there's no tread for water drainage, I think thats why they made the M1 SportTech, besides the extra milage.

How are the rennsports better if the first time you used them you wrecked your bike??? j/k:lol
Do you know how many heat cycles you can go through before they dont stick as well?

Hmm you guys making fun?, I hope not..... What he said is that rennsports gave him so much confidence that he digged his peg in to asphalt (which didn't happen before, on previous dunlop family tyres), which caused him too crash.
Good info man..

From what I have heard from speaking to a buddy of mine who's a pro superstock racer in the UK the Rennsport is THE tyre of choice for the pro's. Some riders use a combo of Rennsport and Supercorser for best feel on some circuits. Numerous bike mag tests in the UK say that the Rennsport is number one for track day riders also.
