Shinko tiresplata900rr 12-14-2008, 02:29 AM Shinko tires. Anybody tried them. They have a good price and rating but? immortal 12-14-2008, 05:40 AM you know the ole saying you get what you pay for..
if you aren't hardcore into the twisties they'll be fine, but i would never ride on them. 08yamar1 12-14-2008, 06:05 AM i used to use nothing but shinko stealth tires i never had a problem with twisties but now that i switched to the continental contirace attack tires ill never buy a shinko again i can go so much faster and bike feels a hundred times more stable so like immortal said you get what you pay for shinko is fine if you basically drag race like i used to do, bubba1228 12-21-2008, 01:39 PM i used to use nothing but shinko stealth tires i never had a problem with twisties but now that i switched to the continental contirace attack tires ill never buy a shinko again i can go so much faster and bike feels a hundred times more stable so like immortal said you get what you pay for shinko is fine if you basically drag race like i used to do,
i agree i have them on mine (the shinko stealth's), they are good for dragging or just cruisin around but when you get into hard turns they feel alittle sketchy nossliw 12-21-2008, 03:37 PM shinkos are for going straight... get on it in the canyons they wont stick.... I heavily cycled track tire will provide better grip. There are plenty of threads on shinko...its a drag tire..its flat... yankin&bankin 12-22-2008, 10:20 AM Right...main problem with Shinko is the profile.
Not enough meat on the side of the tire.
Provides poor handling even in town. .Cheetah. 12-22-2008, 10:32 AM Just feel the tire.... There like wood compared to some nice Stones or Pilots......:fact
With a credit card of rubber touching the ground, dont skimp on the rubber. saady2s 01-06-2009, 09:35 PM How about Shinko's 005? .Cheetah. 01-07-2009, 10:00 AM How about Shinko's 005?
See my post above....... Shinkos = bad day..... Devil1 01-07-2009, 10:03 AM Junk.
Tires = Your life
If it's about money and riding, then maybe it should be parked for a bit until you can afford nicer tires. SWALDEN 01-22-2009, 09:32 PM first tire i ever got back in 02 in my squid days was a Shinko.. this was all i could afford back then... im so lucky i survived with them.. i cruised town with my sunglasses and bandana and thought i was sooooo cool, thank god i was scared sh*tless to corner carve. now the only reason i would ever buy one is to burn it off dragracing.. and that aint my cup-o-tea.. so no worries !! dont buy em, if you have the least bit of intrest in carving corners, you and your bike will be glad you opted to spend a bit more on better tires 2 pennies steveWFL 01-22-2009, 09:48 PM if you aren't hardcore into the twisties they'll be fine, but i would never ride on them.
+1 on both counts punchjamesarnol 01-22-2009, 09:59 PM S T I N K O S :flush: mstine06 01-22-2009, 10:31 PM I had a set of them on my bike. 3500 miles and they were shot. The back tires profile was the worst thing I have seen in my life. Very wide and flat. I would stay aways from them unless you are planning to ride in a straight line. My .02. punchjamesarnol 01-22-2009, 10:35 PM spend the extra hundred bucks on a reputable brand of tire, even if that means eating ramen for a paycheck... lol. :fact steveWFL 01-22-2009, 10:42 PM I run these cheap tires and they work well. although my last order was more expensive 2CTs
