I got a new D&D carbon fiber slip-on today and so far I like it. It is VERY loud. I can't stress that enough. The build quality is about average, you really have to tighten the clamps to stop leakage, but once your up and running, it's good to go......... I like the looks on mine as well.

I have a d&d slip on with a dynojet stage 1 jet kit with 138 mains on my 00 R1. The sound is the cats ass, and she ran 142.6 & 141.9 rw hp on 2 dyno runs. she'll now pull the front wheel in 3rd on cold days. hope this helps.

IMHO jardine pipes are for jap cruisers....maybe i get this thought because the first set of Jardines i have ever seen were rumbler pipes for a Virago...i just done like em the D&D is one loud ass pipe....a HD with straight pipes will rattle you off your bike at the stop light....but if you will blow someone completely off their bike if you whiz by at 9K rpm..... someone did it to me, while we were cruisin down the highway...we were at about 115-125mph, and he came by.....i was layin on my tank enjoyin the ride and damn near shit my pants when he blew by....i thought he was gonna blow my lid off my head....

Draggin thats funny cause my buddy with an F4 with a D&D did that to me only probably 13,000 rpm. My buddies F4i with 2 bros is the same way only a much nicer sound IMO

Hey Ruff- Saw your avatar and thought that looked like a D&D. Congrats, it's a great looking and sounding pipe! I think it fits the '02 R! better that any other, in terms of shape and size... and the loud, mean sound just ads to the bike's aggressive look. One suggestion, make yourself a custom hanger bracket and make it short. Pull the muffler up as high as you can. I did it and it looks great, almost like a high pipe.

Yeah, I love my pipe.........it was a little leaky, but some muffler mender took care of that! SInce it it such a free-flowing exhaust I was thinking of getting a PC3R, but I'm still not sure. My dealer got one by mistake (was supposed to be for a Gixxer but the parts guy ordered the wrong one... they weren't too happy when an 02 R1 PC3R was delivered!) and since he only sold like 3 or 4 02 R1's last year (still has a red one on the floor near his Black, Silver and Blue 03's) it'll probably be on the shelf for a while. I have him priced down to $315+tax on it. What do you think? Is it worth it? I did notice that my off idle response is significantly more sluggish since I put the pipe on........

Definately worth it! I had to put my stock pipe back on to get a ticket signed off and off idle my bike felt like a rocket ship. Put the D&D back on and it was sluggish. Put the PC3R on and it was much better. It's still a little off, I'm using a MIG map. I need to take it in for a custom map for the D&D though.

I'd go with Jardine. Last year, a magazine conducted a comparison of multiple slip-ons and evaluated sound (in dB) and dyno results. The comparison included slip-ons from nearly every major manufacturer as well as some not so famous manufacturers. There was no winner/loser, it was more of a buyer's guide. In any event, the Jardine gave the most bang for the buck. Results may be different on an R1 because the test was conducted on an CBR and the manufacturer seems to tailor his pipes to Hondas much like Yoshimura tailors to Suzukis. If I find the article I will post it. I don't know much about the pipe because only one guy I ride with has one. It's not as loud as a D&D, but it is still pretty loud and after two years, his pipe still looks brand new. As far as quality goes, from what I have seen, Jardine pipes are much better than D&D in my opinion. I'd rather keep my stock pipe than fit a D&D on it.

I don't think I'll be able to get it much higher than this..........

I would get the Jardine. I had one on my 99 F4. I really liked it. It looked great and sounded great. not to loud and not to quiet. nice and deep sound. It was cheep too. I had it three years and it still looked good and sounded the same. BTW mine had the race baffle.;) D&D:no

Hey I was thinking of getting the two bros pipe. Which size did you get. The one on their website is the round. I think it looks hot but some people think it is too small. Do you have a pic.
