07-08 Forks on 01 R1?

I just bought a set of 07-08 forks and want to swap them on my 01. I'm aware that the triples have different angles, but my concern is the diameter on the top section of the fork. I know RODFIORE did a conversion on his R1 but I believe he used the 04-06 forks(not sure if they're different size). I want to use my stock triples and clipons until I have for funds to get 07-08. Here are my questions: 1. Will the new forks fit in the 01 upper and lower triples? 2. Will the 01 clipons work with the 07-08 forks? 3. When I get the new 07-08 triples, can I use my 01 clipons? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

PM fikays he put 07-08 forks on his 01. I have 00 clip-on with the 04-06 forks I would think they would work with the 07-08's you can also use 02-03 triples they are the same as 07-08. You know you'll need the front brake set-up for a 07-08 right

Thanks for the info. I didn't know the triples were the same, that will save me some money if they will work with the 07-08 forks. Yes, I'm aware of the different brake setup for the 07-08.
