Not if it's the "energy conserving" type, with the starburst on the bottle. This is probably a 5w-something, probably energy conserving with too many friction modifiers to risk on my clutch if I were you. Normally I use Mobil 1 4T 10w40, and if you want cheaper, go with Shell Rotella T , in 15w40 (reg) or in 5w40 (syn). Being a diesel oil, it will not be the "energy conserving" type with all the friction modifiers. Lots of guys use it, for a long time, and really like it. Do a search on Rotella, and see what you get.

Been using Rotella T 5W-40 in my '99 for years and love it. $19/Gallon at Walmart.

Lots of debate on oils.

Any M/C specific oil in the proper weight called out by the manf. will work perfectly. Be wary of unrealistic claims and magic oils.

Regardless of Brand, Synthetic or Petrleum, I always recommend the use of a Motorcycle Specific oil with a JASO MA Rating, better yet, MA 2, but never MB.

There is a Difference between Auto/Diesel and Motorcycle oils. Anyone that says different, does not know.

Use the right oil, Motorcycle oil, use a Premium Filter. If you wish to use a synthetic oil, read the G-2156 Link in our Sig and pick one of the Top 3 Finishers.
