Smokin' Aces Squadron BBQ/ Bike night meet ups.

Fellas I was trying to think of some way we could all get together and meet each other in person. BBQ, wings out on the town, or a ride. Open to suggestions so go ahead and throw them out. Sorry its so last minute, but I just got the final info this evening. I understand that Sunday is Mother's day so if you can't make it it is totally understandable. OK here are the details. We are meeting at my shop (4850 Galley Rd. NE corner of Galley and Wooten halfway between Academy and Powers inside the PC store) at 11:30am on Sunday May 10. We will head out and take 105 to Palmer Lake, have lunch at o'Malleys then head to Sedalia. From there we are going to cut over to Castle Rock and Franktown and take 83 back to the Springs. Well you all are wussies!!! it wasn't that cold. We rode to Palmer Lake for lunch (smothered steak burritos) then headed over to 83 and came back to the springs in the rain. Stopped at Rhino's to let the rain pass and hung out there for a couple of hours drinking bloody mary's. it was fun

WUSSIES eh :lol rode an entire day in the rain at 50 degrees at track speed...my penis was so cold it fell off, and my arms were blue almost the entire day..... not to mention being frozen wet while changing tires and creating my on set of rains out of DOT's...... hah bizatch Not to mention the other two day of coldness.... today is nice though!

Not this weekend, but I'm down for a short ride next week on Saturday morning, I'm heading up fishing and shooting with some buds that weekend, yes fishing..... After that things start to open up a little... just trying to dig myself out of a financial hole with work and hopefully it will free up here soon. My name is Aaron, I live in Colorado Springs, and I've been poking around the forums for a bit now as a guest doing some research on the R1's and I actually brought home a new 2009 Cadmium Yellow R1 from Apex Sports last weekend. After a 1/2 day at Jackel Motorsports for the engine break-in on his Dyno, she's all ready for me to put some miles on. While I'm not new to motorcycles (I've driven 500's, 600's, and even some 750's), I am new to liter bikes. I've had a Kawasaki Ninja 500 for the past 2 years, and as you know the R1 is a big step up. I'm still getting used to the feel, weight and power of the bike, but if you guys don't mind a timid rider in your midst, I'd love to meet up, hang out, and go for some rides (assuming it would stop raining!)

I'll throw down the pace you're willing to ride at (I prefer to pull up the rear, and let the group set the pace). I will do the 150 mph Canyon Carving or the 20 mph stroll. My preference is that my ass comes home safe...shiny side up, rubber side down.

Had a good ride yesterday. Dawn and I met up with Aaron (Stencil) to drool over his 09 R1. Put some riding through GOG and the pass to Woodland Park. Was a nice day to just stroll down the street. I didn't forget about you Nick. It's a bit after 9am right now. I'm giving Dawn a while to sleep in, then going to try seriously to get up to HPR. MapQuest has two jacked up routes I can take, both of which are over 90 minutes. Assuming I can get rolling by 11am, I'll be on my way. As for the rest of you active posters, and hundreds of lurkers, let's start getting together and ride. The weather is getting so close to perfect!

Was a great weekend...was heading to HPR when Weatherbug on my Blackberry told me there was tornado activity out that way while I was gassing up in Castle Rock. I wanted to see the new track, but didn't feel like driving through a tornado. Aiming for Wednesday myself. So far, looks strong that I'll be rolling up with Stencil. I should give Jimmy a buzz too and drag his ass along!
