: PIRELLI ROSSO- Good choice or what???
akrapovicr1 04-29-2009, 05:07 PM Need a set of tires, always ran dunlops. The last rear tire I used was a 200 and I am never doing that again. Anyway just wondering if anyone runs them and what they think. 100 percent riding on the street but its a R1 so its ridin well. I don't want to sacrifice to much performance for milage and vise versa.
2000R1Devil 04-29-2009, 06:43 PM Pirelli Diablo Stradas and wont look back!!!
yankin&bankin 04-29-2009, 09:23 PM I've heard generally good things about them -
I've heard more riders say they liked them than didn't.
Try them out and give us a review.
AZRider 04-29-2009, 10:33 PM I was riding qualifiers before I decided to try the diablo rosso's. After riding with them for their life, I wasn't impressed. I have since switched back to the qualifiers. The reason being was because when fully leaned over the tires don't seem to hold their line like the qualifiers and seem kinda shaky in some way. Not only that but the life of the qualifiers was double compared to my rosso's. I have ridden on all types from the rosso, qualifiers, pp, pp2ct, shinkos. I prefer the qualifiers! Hope this helps.

I bet the Shinkos were your favorite out of all of them.
akrapovicr1 04-30-2009, 12:41 PM Interesting... I liked the Qualifiers as well... but I am even more interested in the fact that you got twice as much life then the rossos... I will keep that in mind... Thanks

The qualifiers are not a Sport/Tourer tire like the Rossos are. The Q's will offer a much better grip for aggressive riding due to their compound, but of course will not get the mileage the Rossos would.
akrapovicr1 05-03-2009, 06:10 AM I have heard real good things about the ROSSO's.... can't hurt to give them a try....

Paytheon 05-06-2009, 04:17 PM ROSSO's are for street and not track. That pretty much is what you say you are looking for. If you are gold with that then you will be happy with them.

The Rosso isn't actually classified as a sport-touring tire.
It is a sport tire, and was introduced as a direct replacement for the Pirelli Diablo.
2000R1Devil 05-08-2009, 09:05 PM 100% street riding and i would go with Diablo Stradas and not think twice about it.

I recently put on a 190 Rosso after having the 190 Michelon Pilot Power stock and I'm convinced it's an awesome tire. Faster lean response times, incredible grip, and awesome rain riding lol. Got stuck 45 minutes away from my house in the rain and had to ride back. Looked a bit funny I was passing cars on the freeway but I enjoyed it once I got used to being soaking wet. The transition after putting on this tire was like skating on ice. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Diablo Rosso at all. I paid about 260$ for mine with warranty and mount/balance did the other maintenance myself.
jimmycapp 06-04-2009, 10:00 AM I would get them. They will have more grip than you will ever need. I got a set of the diablo's (recently replaced by the rosso) for 200 shipped. I ran them at the track 3 times so far and can't complain. I was running mid pack in the fast group yesterday at NHMS without one slip, and that is a demanding track on tires.
MrQuickR1 06-04-2009, 10:32 AM I always liked Diablo Corsa. I don't know what happened to them but does anyone know if Pirellii makes the same tire just a different name? I was under the impression at first that Rosso's were the replacement to Corsas, but now reading this thread, it is the replacement for the the plain Diablo street tire.
I don't need tires yet, but I will eventually soon, just wondering what tire would make up for the corsa.
