: valvoline and honda oil
stinknugget 05-29-2009, 06:13 PM I know this question is going to get plenty of replies from the amsoil crowd. I know, synthetic is good stuff.
But here is my first question. I am still going to use petroleum based oil for a few thousand more miles and have been shopping around. I used nothing but Honda gn4 in my Suzuki SV650 and really liked it a lot. It is currently in my R1 after getting rid of the Yamalube at 600 miles. Any thoughts on the Honda HP4 (synthetic blend)? If I decide to go that route I need the HP4 WITHOUT moly, correct?
Second, any thoughts on the Valvoline motorcycle oil? Anyone used it? I have one buddy that uses it in his FZ1000 with no issues.
Just get R1Slapper to send you his used oil. He mixes together any kind of oil he has laying around and after 45,000 miles it comes out cleaner than when it was put in. :fact
steveWFL 05-29-2009, 06:18 PM we needed another oil thread, thanks.
looking forward to the inputs http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif
stinknugget 05-29-2009, 06:21 PM I can only imagine his replies...he usually has a lot to say.
OGR1Girl 05-29-2009, 07:01 PM LOL!!! oh don't get me started.... But since you did, Even my superior used oil is superior, and will not cause a trans to go crunchy to smooth as butter in the first 1500 miles. If you use my used oil your engine will create more HP shift smoother, be more quiet and will cause the engine to repair itself in no time at all, before you know it your 1000cc engine will have 1500 extra cc.
I can ship it Fedex or UPS, below my cost, mile for mile cheaper and less expensive, life blood of your engine, my used filters are also the kidney of your engine, if you don't use my stuff your engine will blow up, your tire will deflate, your chain will come off, and your Mother in Law will move in with you and live for ever.....
Cant wait for Amsoil response....Beat that would you...
OGR1Girl 05-29-2009, 07:15 PM Gee I love oil threads
I must admit, it would be hard to one-up that one. :lol

Sounds like I will be ordering from you. No other input from the crowd?
OGR1Girl 06-01-2009, 09:15 AM Gee!!! kind of disapointed, after a long weekend at Miller I log on and find no interest in my used oil. Whats wrong with you guys.
You don't want extra HP, more quiet engine, 1500 extra cc, 20,000 miles between changes, mile for mile below cost, a buttered transmission, I have 65 years of doing this I know what I am talking about, don't question me at all, 65 years I been doing this. 65 years!!!!
AT1Mike 06-01-2009, 10:58 AM I used semi-syn Yamalube this last time i changed it. I haven't been to happy with it. my bike seems to be running hotter ever since. just my .02

Is there any way you can quantify "seems to be running hotter"?
Oil temp?
Coolant temp?
What is the difference in the ambiant temp, in the 2 comparisions?
Buy my oil if you want superior stuff.
OGR1Girl 06-01-2009, 02:02 PM Where are they? Must be getting smarter and not taking the bait.
Im sure Five-ho will advise soon...
OGR1Girl 06-05-2009, 09:05 AM Still waiting.
Amsoil Dealer Group 06-05-2009, 03:57 PM The Honda GN4 Semi-Synthetic is a pretty good oil... play it safe and use the Non-Moly if that is the oil you are going to use.

Before i was about 160's for temp now its stays in the 180's and jumps over 200 REALLY quick. Ambiant isn't that far off, maybe 5 degrees on avg. The next oil change will be Amsoil.

I have an electronic oil temp guage in my bike. I dropped almost 30 Degrees when I switched from Petroleum to AMSOIL with ambient temps running 95.
No Steve.... You bought an "Excellent Oil"

The service was excellent too, you guys never said "since you ordered it today it'll be there day after tomorrow" and I was surprised to say the least http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/dblthumb2.gif

Thanks Steve,
It doesn't always work that way but we try our best and so do our warehouses.
Rex became a Dealer and has really taken the Bull by the Horns and ran with it.
